I'm guessing because my Razor was already boxed up for shipping when I called and it would take too much time to remove all the packing peanuts that were so carefully placed into the box with tweezers. You would never be able to get them back into their original positions.

You're certainly welcome, atkinsg. We're glad we were able to hook you up! You'll be placing a Razor over your aquarium, so it's clear you've down your homework. We'd say you've earned your new Reef Nerd threads.

And you're right, to repackage the box again with such passion may have delayed your order. We probably would have just used Securefoam, like in the cinema classic Demolition Man.

Received my 16k 120w razor today. Did not get home till almost 10pm but had to open it up and take a look. Will be setting it up this weekend once I get home from work and look forward to not only seeing this baby in action but posting a review once everything has settled. By the way, I heard Chris of Coralvue mention in another thread that their is an upgrade kit available for these fixtures. Do you guys know anything about that?

I could be wrong but, I have the impression that will be down the road. Things like different led panel arrangements. I would like to see an upgrade that allows you to run the fans at a lower temp or continuously.......not that the current set point is bad, but an even cooler operating temp seems like it would beneficial, especially to those of us who will be using a canopy. Speaking of canopys, now that I have my Razors, Ive got to figure out how Im going to mount them. The supplied methods wont work for me, the legs inverted, still wont work on my Marineland tank with dual overflows and my canopy isnt tall enough for the hangers (light would hang too low). But I am very glad to have them.

We asked Chris from CoralVue about upgrades and this is what he had to say:

"I only mentioned to customers that there will be replacement parts available in the future. I have no news about upgrades at this time."

I received my light yesterday (20.5 16k). Thanks for the updates through Reefcentral. My initial impression of the product is impressive. I will be running it over a 55 gallon tank on one side and a 150 watt MH with LED actinic supplementation. It should be an interesting experiment to see the difference in growth and color.

I received my light yesterday (20.5 16k). Thanks for the updates through Reefcentral. My initial impression of the product is impressive. I will be running it over a 55 gallon tank on one side and a 150 watt MH with LED actinic supplementation. It should be an interesting experiment to see the difference in growth and color.

Regrettably, we would not be able to send the light to your hotel. The potential for fraud when shipping to hotels is through the roof so it's company policy not to send orders to them. This is unfortunate for guys like you who simply want to take advantage of free shipping while you're in the states.

We do have the 16,000K lights available in both sizes if you happen to have a friend there in Dallas where we can ship the light to.
