Incredible, as usual!

I didn't know if you were going to start a "Tank Transfer" thread to document your switchover when you tackle it, so I'll ask my questions here. :)

Are you going to attempt to recreate your current aquascape, (kind of like taking apart a puzzle then putting it back together), or are you going for something completely different?

Also, is this the type of project where you'll try to do it all in one day, or transfer things to temporary containers, then slowly reassemble?

I remember you saying what a pain in the butt it was when you moved to this house. I'm curious as to the lessons you took away from that experience that will influence the tank transfer. I'm sure that info will help out a lot of folks who have to move or are switching tanks.

Looks great. Its terrible that your gonna have to tear it all apart. Maybe you will accidentally frag that chalice in the process?

yes Gary please document your tank transfer,I sure your knowledge will yield valuable information on coral/tank transfers

But on the other hand i can see why you would pass on this..

thanks for all the nice words.

As for what I'm going to do... I still don't know for sure.
IMO it would be foolish not to use what fish I already have for restocking the next aquarium. My fish stocking list reads like the stickies at the top of the marine fish forum: Leopard Wrasse, Powder Blue, Achilles, Copperband, Emperor Angelfish etc.
Rock and corals are another matter but I get pretty much attached to everything (including rock!) and it's unlikely I'll totally get rid of anything altogether.

That leaves me with 'how do I put the puzzle back together'. Create new or try to recreate what I have? I dunno. Gives me something to think about.

A special thanks to Eileen for reminding me that I'm going to need a bigger net than what I currently have :fish2:

Great shots as per usual G! I don't envy your position. You've got a good thing going. But I think you've proved to us all time and time again, you'll recover just fine. As for the actual logistics, well......

tough call. my vote is to keep the all star cast of fish ,and maybe open up the scape a bit. your fruit stand scape is as nice as they come. a new tank and scape might be like gettin a new puppy.

That took years to grow out and enjoy but sometimes you have to start new again or just say this was one of my children that moved out here is my new baby. Keep the fish but nothing wrong with trimming down and opening up for more growth of different things.

Gary, I love your tank. It would be great if you could recreate it but I think it will be next to impossible because just pulling the coral out and setting it down somewhere will likely cause significant coral breakage. And how would you remember how each rock sat?

I tried to do this once and it looked completely different when it was done.

Regardless, you will have a fantastic tank when it's all over. I can't wait to see the new look!

This is such a beautiful tank! Im new to all this, but wheres the over flow for this style tank? is it on the side?

Also are you going bigger???

Hector and Jr are very nice fish "Understatement" you should keep them :) Every angle of that tank is amazing Gary!
