Hey guys,...I got a new 18B20, have it hooked up ready to go,...brought up the arduino program, went to Examples, and unlike before I don't see Dallas Temperature on the list? I'm suppose to click on Dallas Temperature which brings up "Tests" that leads me to the addressing. What am I missing? Thanks,---Rick

sorry another thing did you change your preferences at the beginning of the arduino 1st window? you have to do this and close and reopen to get arduino to look at a specific file.

Hey Proietti,(or any Jarduino guys),...I think I have the 18b20 thing worked out. Now the screen is not showing the Jarduino program. I reloaded the Jarduino program to the board, and the little leds flickered as it was loading, the screen is lit, but the program is not showing?? Is there a way to check to see if I need to order another screen? I have plugged and unplugged the screen shield into the Mega a bunch times, just to see if it would show the program for just a second, but no go. Don't know what happen now,:headwally:any suggestions will be appreciated.---Rick

rick make sure you have all the Jarduino libraries do you get any errors during the compile?? also check to make sure you are using the right pins and also the correct driver

Hi guys,...thing is, I had it up and working for a long time. That's why I'm confused as to what happen. It was working last week when I was trying to get the pwm fan to come on with the 18B20's. I couldn't get the fan to come on, so I got a new 18B20 in and was going to address it, when I didn't see the Dallas test set up on the sketch. So I was trying to fix that issue @ Proietti's advice(change preferences), now the Dallas test is back in the sketch, and I eeprom clear, then upload the Jarduino sketch, the little led on the board flickers like its uploading, but now nothing comes on the screen. The screen is lit up, but no Jarduino? I'm not using a patch cable on the screen, its plugged directly into the mega. This is where I'm stuck. The board looks like it uploads, so I don't know if the problem is the screen, or the board or??? I might need to see if you can take a look at it rott. Unless you guys can throw another idea at me.

---RickYep I clear the eeprom. I ordered another screen,....it will be hear by friday. I'll try a couple test sketches. Like I said it appears to upload the Jarduino sketch, and the screen is lit but no picture. I'm kind of baffled. Up side if I find out its something simple,...I'll end up with two screens:headwally:
most of the time it is a software problem before a hardware one but you said you pulled the screen off a lot maybe you did some thing to the soldered end where all the pins are I really don't know have you tested them to make sure they have continuity that would be fast and easy
Can you tell me if there is an Rtc issue,... the screen will not show the picture? I remember when I first built the project, I had a issue with the rtc and the only real problem was the time on the screen needed to be reset each time I turned it on. The onboard battery was only for RTC backup.So I'm not quite sure if the two would have something to do with the Jarduino program from showing up on the screen. Thanks,---Rick
