Measuring formalin?

Is there a proper/suggested method of measuring liquid formalin? Are those cheap 3mL pipettes OK or is something more precise required? Looking on Amazon there isn't anything in between those pipettes (or a medicine dropper) and a $40 micropipette. Any advice out there?

PS - does the container used for the formalin dip need to be cleaned in any special way for use afterwards?

If you measure by drops those pipettes will do. If you measure in mL then I would rather get a graduated medical grade syringe of appropriate size.

As for cleaning the dip container:
I rinse them with warm water and then dry them.

And 20 drops = ~1mL, correct (even from the 3mL pipettes)?
