Melanurus and Yellow Coris compatibility

I'm wanting to add a medium sized yellow fish and have pretty much narrowed it down to the Yellow Coris. Will my Melanurus allow this addition? Anyone with experience owner both together?

Other inhabitants:

2x Ocellaris clownfish
1x Firefish
1x Flame angel
5x Blue green chromis
1x Lyretail anthias male

Tank is 110 with full cleanup crew.

I have both, the Melanurus is twice the size and in the tank first and added the yellow coris and had zero problems. Figure on not seeing the second added fish for a few days as it will live in the sand for a while. They don't bother each other at all.

my yellow coris stayed in the sand for 2 months (yup, you read that right). had a couple of fleeting glimpses of him but that was it. he finally decided to come out of hiding and he's been a great fish.

I would recommend using a social acclimation box to add the H. chrysus. It should be fine, but there are instances where an established melanurus wrasse can be ornery toward a new wrasse addition.

Bah, didn't need to hear that lol! My biocellatus went into the sand in QT after an hour. Really hoping I don't need to wait weeks to feed him...

My thoughts exactly. Should be fine, but use an acclimation box.

he was in qt...ttm and 4 weeks of observation. the only time he went into the sand was at lights out. other than that, he was out all the time. i used an acclimation box when in introduced him into the dt but still, he dove and hid. i was sure he was a goner but lo and behold! :bounce1:

He actually showed himself in QT a couple of hours ago. I'm a happy boy. Both the Chrysus and Biocellatus came out, ate ova, and then ate some LRS reef frenzy.

And I'm taking the thread OT. My apologies to the OP.
