metal halide accident...

Actually - you can only be electrocuted once. By definition it's 100% fatal. ;)

Huh....learn something new every day. So, when you are laying on the ground flopping around like a fish out of water you are actually being shocked, not electrocuted. Thanks for pointing that out, beerguy. I've been using the wrong term for that.

Electrocute was first used in 1889 (7 years before the term brunch) as a combo of electricity and execute. Wickid cool bit of trivia.

Pico1,

Dude.. Glad to hear that you're OK.. Have a good recovery...

Thanks for posting, although its a painful mistake. You made it safer for all of us, knowing not to do the same.

DANG DUDE! I hope you're feeling better. It'd be cool if you ended up having super powers after this accident. :D

Ah, yes...I remember the first time I exposed myself to gamma radiation as a kid:p

These were taken today. Don't scroll down if you are eating or get sick from seeing open wounds...

Oh and the doctor said that it's beyond 3rd degree burns and if it gets infected they have to cut off my thumb.

so I guess it goes without saying that you are wearing latex/rubber gloves around any and all tanks to avoid infection ? and/or taking some time off from work to heal up properly ?

that's serious, i hope it doesn't come down to that!~) looks nice and clean to me!~)

you would be able to relocate one of your toes to become a finger if necessary, of course we all pray that it does't happen!~) i saw this clip earlier today... check it out a guy loses his thumb to a moray eel!~)

!~)

The doctor said that I have to take time off work until it heals. I just use my left hand in the aquarium.

That looks horribly painful. Is it as bad as I'd imagine? Keep it clean at all costs!!! :eek2:

It's looking better! DO keep it away from the tank. Let us know if you need help with maintenance. How are the feather burns?

Ow! That's gonna leave a mark...

That movie clip on the eel biting off that dude's thumb - sweet Jesus, what were those fools thinking?!
