Mike's 200g

I might turn off the skimmer before adding prazi pro, I dosed my tank with it recently when it looked like a fish had worms or something. Skimmer went crazy.

You have to turn off skimmer per the instructions as to not pull the meds out. Maybe run skimmer with cup off to let it overflow?

So would you think this is a good course of action even if i dont see the white stringy poop, just some fish getting skinny (and yes a couple deaths) even though they are eating?

When you say eating normally, what is that for your tank- i.e. What do they eat, how much, how often do you feed?

I lost a duncan colony. I dont have many lps corals but a couple fungia plates which are both ok. I dont think it was just the stray voltage either but it may have contributed.
I ran zeo mix, carbon and phosphate minus (gfo) all from aquaforest.

Hmm, none of those are heavy metal absorbers.

I feed 5 cubes of frozen food a day. Usually 4 hikari mysis cubes and 1 spirulina brine. Sometimes i switch out one mysis for another spirulina brine or a bloodworm every now and then. Nori sheet about 2 times per week and a pinch of seaweed extreme pellets everyday.

Feeding is spread out over multiple times a day.

The 2 fish i lost i have had for multiple years.

Hmm, that is a pretty good mix of foods and quantity, if they are eating that is good. When I get new fish/stress signs I have fed up to 5 or six times a day, with enough that the whole tank is guaranteed to get food. I'm not familiar with medications, hopefully the situation will sort itself out soon.

The only coral in the tank i really want at the moment. The other corals are fine but this is holding me over untill i can get acros again.

How's it going?

Hey bud. Thanks for checking in.
So update of where we are.

Introduced a powder blue... Didnt qt.. Big mistake. He attacked everyone, infected the tank with velvet died and took almost everyone with him. Remaining living fish (hippo, damsel, chromis and yellow tang) are in quarentine been treated with copper and are fine now. Display and connected frag system is fallow.
Have what i think is dinos breaking out.. So as no corals or fish in dt i had lights off for a while anyway. Nutrients shot way up higher than theyhave ever been.. But as there is no fish in the system now i havnt woried trying to lower them as im sure they will lower with general maintenecr and no feeding as no fish.

The few corals i do have in the frag tank are doing "ok" not great. The dino or cyano stuffis clearly borhering them as it sometimes "hangs on" to their branches.
The dino stuff however doesnt seem to be toxic as snails are not dieing.
Lights are back on in main tank now...maybe try yo promote some green algea growth... But all that seems to be growing is the cyano or dino and bubble algea as i now have no foxface or naso to eat it.

I have been dosing a fair amount of good bacteria each day for a few days now to see if i can out compete the crap. Dont care if i get a bacteria bloom either as no fish to wory about. Part of me is thinking to add a bunch of bleach to the tank to kill it all and then start over.

Interestingly i had some remnants of my monti setosa left on my rockwork that had encrusted. Fully expected it to die with no lighting for probably like 5 weeks... Nope still alive actually!
Oh yeah i also found montipora eating nudis on a couple my monti frags in frag tank 2.... So thats fun.

Damn Mike, sorry to see the troubles buddy :(

These times really kick you in the guts mate, i'm glad you're sticking it out as you had such beautiful acros under LED's so i hope to see it all again down the track :)

Thanks mate. Yeah im not going anywhere. Havnt been doing much with the tank lately though (kids taking up all my time) have not tested anything in weeks. Or even been dosing alk etc (doubt there is much demand) the corals i have in the frag tank seem to be holding on ok.
I did get a chance to do a complete clean out of the frag tank with a waterchange yesterday though. So we will see how long before its covered in brown junk again.

Just a quick cell phone shot.
