Min. Nitrates for RBTA.

I just started a 29gal tank for my wife and kids. They wanted a, "Nemo" tank, so I'll be putting in two Percs and an RBTA. I'm going RBTA because my neighbor's keeps splitting and he has to get rid of the clones. Anyway, what is the maximum acceptable reading for Nitrates that an RBTA can safely handle. Right now it's reading about 100ppm (it's been cycling about 4-6 weeks) and I was thinking about putting the RBTA in when I get it down to 20ppm. Other parameters are zero and Ph is 8.2. Thanks.

agree. i got my anemone a bit to early, shes been thru alot, shes a survivor for sure. they dont take changes well at all. a .02 change in salinity screw em up for days

but, to fairly answer your question.. nitrates dont effect an anemone to badly. id get it under 100 for sure. but ive been asking around for awhile now because im having a nitrate problem and from peeoples opinions and what i see in my tank, 20 would be fine. I got my bta when my nitrates were at zero, i vacummed my gravel after 4 months of having a tank, and my nitrates shot to 50 and stayed there. shes fine. Ive got them done to about 10 or so now, but i had to use azno3 to help (it really helps!)

BTAs can be a bit unpredictable, and are often badly handled/ stressed out before you buy them. Be patient and wait 'til nitrates are at 10 or below to give this animal the best chance of survival.
