Minimalist Aquascaping

I believe that minimalist aquascape is not defined by the weight of rocks you put in the tank, but rather by the structure/shape of the rock, by the "airy" feeling that structure gives the tank...

this is very cool, just appeals to me for whatever reason :)

I have been watching this thread for awhile now! It has also given me tons of inspiration and a lot of ideas. I just purchased a 115g rimless with a 40g sump and am looking to do the minamalist style. Thank you to everyone for the pics! Gives me something to strive for

Just redid the rockscape when I upgared to a new tank. Opted for a minimalistic aquascape because I was inspired by this thread.

Here's the result.

With all the minimalistic scaping Gurus on this thread thought I post my scaping plans for your suggestions. Is this simplistic enough? what would you change in it?

Maroun,

I might move that far left "island' a little further away from the glass, just to facilitate cleaning. That being said, i really like how the islands slope from left to right in terms of size!

nice reef tank carlov, really like your setup, perhaps showing a fts pic without the actinics would be even more beautiful and clear? ty:bounce3::bounce2::bounce1:

Thanks 1$R! ::D

Here's an FTS with White +Blue LEDs. Sorry about the poor quality of pics, I'm not a good photographer.

What do you guys think about this? Just got it done last night. It's a 150H with about 90lbs of sand and 100lbs of dry rock. I also have 25lbs of rubble in the fuge.

My previous tanks were filled with rock. This go around I am trying something new. The tank is my 180 Upgrade and just recently finished cycling so there are no corals in it yet. No rock touches the back wall or the sides. Hopefully this gives the fish plenty of space to swim around and for corals to grow.
