Minimalistic multichip DIY LED build

Thanks I have the 50w chip at the minute but I am unsure if this is enough for my tank my tank is 700mm wide 600mm front to back but only 300mm deep
Thanks and I hope you are feeling better

Mine is... 5 drivers X 4 Dream Chips or 1.3A @ channel.---Rick

If not more s--t happens - I´ll probably will have the first of Jannes solution to test upcomming weekend.

Probably I will leave the hospital tomorrow and be able to start my builds of the dream chip.

For all who missed the opportunity to get v1.0 Dream Chip - now there's a new chance.

Sincerely Lasse

Can you put up a link to your chip you have now so I can see the spec?

Sincerely Lasse

Hi Lassef
Ebay link(s) removed~dc
I hope that works
Dave

I do not know if it is possible to make those drivers dimable.

I have not buy from that vendor so I do not know if it is quality or not - anyone else may have experiences of their stuff. Please post.

Sincerely Lasse

This chip is max 1.5 A and therefore only 50 Watt. The one 60 watt I linked to is able to drive up to 140 -150 watt if you want. Your tank is swallow and I would test without lenses. if you run one 60 watts I linked to with 3.6 A (app 125 W) and this chip you allready have - at least test, Driver for the one you have - LPF-60D-42 should work

Lasse, Best wishes to you! I'll be watching for your build test results as you can get to them. Sure you have seen tomservo's posts on his 8900's cooling. Looks good.---Rick

Thanks for your help Lasse
I really need to stay away from eBay as I have just spotted the 10w chips decisions decisions

I have a question for those that know, will this driver work for theses lights using the dim4 controller, with relays

driver - http://www.trcelectronics.com/Meanwell/pdf/hlg240h.pdf

4 - 50w atinic led chips
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/New-40mil-50...826?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3f1935efba

thanks for any help

Should work... get the 36-B series. The driver will do a constant 6.7A /4 =1.67A @ chip the spec. says 1.75 max. You should get the opt. relay to shut the driver off completely. Also a fuse to cut power to the other chips, if one chip fails.

First, i would like to thank all that have contributed to this thread.

I'm working on my second multichip fixture. The first was very basic, this new one is something different. Hope you all like!
