Modded MJ vs. Tunze

hey guys,
i was getting ready to spend some big bucks on couple of Tunze's but its hard to drop ~$500 on pumps alone. i researched and if i modded two MJs 1200 i could easily get 5000 GPH out of these puppies (now, thats a LOT of flow in my 75 gallon), and with decent wavemaker i could get very competitive system.

what is your take on this?

if you go on the mjmods web site you will that he does not recomend them for wave makers. I have two and tried them on wavemakers and they make a racket every time that they turn on. I run mine 8hrs for one 8hrs for the next then 8rs off at night with jsut 2 other reg heads running. they are not designed well for constant turning on and off you have a fifty percent chance that when they go on they will be running in reverse then they bounce up and rattle aganst the stopper for anywhere from 3-20 seconds. you and your fish dont want to hear that all the time
