Montipora Capricornis next to green birds nest

Am I asking for trouble having my red Monti Cap under and next to my green birds nest? They eventually grew to where they were just barely touching and began to slime really bad in that spot. I cut the GBN back but ever since then the GBN has not had fully extended polyps. Should I move one of the two?

if you have a decent size of the BN then it will eventually tolerate the sting.
