more flow or more light?

it isn't the amount of watts per gallon but more importantly how much light can penatrate through the water to the sand bed. more wattage = more penatration. watts per gallon isn't a very good rule of thumb.

100watts of PC lighting is no where close to 70watts MH because the MH can penatrate through the water better than the PC lighting and produce more light.

In my case, I have the 400w MH over the center of the tank and all my SPS are in my middle 2 ft. of the tank under the MH. If you check out the schematic the eurobracing covers 1 ft. on each side of the tank making lighting the sides difficult (I bought this tank intending it to be for cichlids...little did I know :) ). The only thing I was thinking with light was maybe needing it from multiple angles, didnt know if that would make a difference.
