Most Interesting / Most Personality

I had a small panther grouper for a while and he was a real kick to watch. Strange swiming behavior, and would ignore practically everything that was going on around him. I think he was stoned or drunk most the time :spin2:. But they can get huge, so you need a big tank

Bandit Angels (A. arcuatus) all the way. I have never owned a fish that is as inquisitive as a Bandit. These fish actually seem to crave human interaction.

I think most people would agree angelfish in general are very inquisitive, and have lots of "personality". I think Holacanthus species especially.

Blennies also are great fish to watch.

My Moorish Idol has a ton of personality. It will race me as I walk along the tank. If I turn and go the other way, it will turn and race me that way too. Great fish.

French Angels also are very personable.

agree...they are more curious than any other angel and trigs....
they are also one of the few fish that eagerly search out divers and interact with them...

Long nose Hawk ... Unbeatable

Always on display ... perches around and stares at everything ... inside and outside the tank :lolspin:

ive always been a huge fan but ive never had one..id be worried about it slurping my 6 line down now...

my personal favorite are puffers of all sorts and porcs, dogface are hilarious to me. but i also loved my falco hawk and smith's blenny both crazy lil dudes

My scribbled angel was the best - ate out of my hand like most have mentioned & friendly. Can't go wrong w/ a blenny either - like having a puppy w/ gills & fins ...

Lionfish top my list of most personable. I haven't kept any yet, but will have a few lionfish/scorp species in the coming months. Many places say they will beg for food once you are seen as the source of food to the tank. I'll see how it goes!

It's hard to disagree here...lionfish learn very interesting ways to get the attention of The Food God...spitting water at you, flaring their fins like a butterfly's wings, "dancing" in front of the tank panes, etc.

One of the most weird things is watching Chorydactlus stingfishes (bearded ghouls) "walk" on their dactyls tho:

You may have just added another scorp to my want list... :)

nothing like when my blenny comes right up front and just watches what you're doing. sits up like a puppy dog and just hangs out.. cool as heck

Do you have any pics of your tanks/fish? I'd love to see them!

Picked up a camera the other day, once I figure things out I'll take some photos.

I'm a tad late on this but my 5 cents are;
1) COWFISH! Amazing things
2) Puffers, especially porcs!

I love blennies and gobies and freshwater darters--those little bottom-hopping fishes are real characters. My Molly Miller blenny has a particular spot in the front of her cave where she likes to hang out and watch the world go by. Sometimes I'll look up from my laptop and see her staring at me from across the room. Probably wondering when I'm going to get up and feed her. :p
