Well if you think about it they give customer support plus replacement parts or assembly through warrenty. So if you do get one of the few bad ones they will replace it. Jebao can cut cost by cutting out those two and put out a solid product why not. If it lasts a year its worth it to me.

I would have voted Tunze as I have purchased a 6095 and a 6105 in the past two months.

Jabao (sp?) does produce junk though. AFAIK they have literally never produced a quality product. That doesn't mean all Chinese products are junk though. I would venture a guess that a VAST majority of consumer products sold in America are made in China. We all know a lot are, but I'm thinking upwards of 50%. Yet most of these aren't cheap junk.

I would love to hear about the jebao products your have experience with.

Seems like anther person with zero experience with any of their products and just talking out of your .....

They're affiliated with Odyssea...the company that makes spontaneously combusting light fixtures. And their skimmers were junk. And they have no customer service. These facts are pretty widely known, its not a big conspiracy. Usually only people who are new to the hobby or don't do their research don't know about them.

Ugh. You would think such strong opinionated people would have their facts straight. You know what they say about assumptions....

You are speaking of the brand jebo. Not jebao.

They are not affiliated with Odyssea

From what I was told years ago by a wholesaler, Jebo and Jebao were the same company. Much like Toyota and Lexus. Sold in the US as Jebo and sold elsewhere as Jebao. Jebo changed their name to Odyssea due to a bad reputation. Maybe I was misinformed. Either way I'm not the one acting like a child, name calling and telling people they're talking out of their $%&. I'm discussing it like a mature adult and I'm open to listen to what people have to say, maybe you should try it some time because the point still stands...They have such little confidence in their products that they won't even warranty it for 90, or even 30 days. I would think defending a company like that would be more appropriately termed "strongly opinionated".

I have an odyssey skimmer pump and had led fixture with no problems. I know others with them and haven't had any issues

I am a huge fan of the Vortech pumps. OK, they are expensive, but the lower in-tank profile and lack of heat transfer tip the scales for me

Quick google tells you that both Jebao and Odyssea were started in the same place in 1998. Not exactly conclusive but surprising, to say the least, if they are not affiliated.

Jebo, the company I always thought was a misspelling of Jebao, started up on 1994 and is, to my surprise, a totally different company.

I was pretty sure jebo and jebao are the same company in Asia. From what I knew they used the name Odyesssin the us also.

This is what I thought. Jebo is half Canadian it turns out.... damned cheap Canadian knockoffs!!! :)

Hahaha! Not a bad joke; it was sorely needed in this thread too!

I have a WP40 on the way, an MP40 on the 150g and a Dart/OM closed loop. I'm kind of an "all-of-the-above" guy. I do think this thread probably cut Vortech's MP40 revenue by at least 15% or so though...(judging from the volume of a group buy in my area).

As far as I know, Jebo and Jeboa are two separate companies. I believe Jebo was established in 1994. I have never owned a Jebo product so I can't say anything about them. I am also fairly certain that Odyssea was by Jebo.

Jeboa was established in 1998 as a manufacturer of mostly pond equipment (pond pumps, etc). Since then, they have expanded into the aquarium industry. I have owned Jeboa pond pumps that have worked fine for several years. So based on my past experience, their products seem to be decent quality.

I am 100 % sure they do not produce anything, just rebranding them with their own sticker, is quite common in aquarium world. You can find dozens of company who have same exact products like jebao but under diferent company name. Most of their pumps are rebranded hailea, resun, boyu or sunsun pumps, those company produce most of the pumps for aquarium market and probably one of them produce this wp wavemaker. Odysea type of light is so common and is selled under dozens of diferent name, for example German company Aqua Light sell their quad models what are same as odysea t5 light, link http://shop.aqualight.de/product_in....html&XTCsid=bdfe9642a22d80e53f6d705696a45070

Odyssea, jebo, jebao .... and probably hundreds of other company name are just sticker on products, all those products come from resun, hailea, boyu or sunsun

And just how are you 100% certain that they don't make these pumps? What if I told you an LFS just placed a big order with them. They offered to private label pumps for him and offered him a factory tour if he wanted! Would you still be 100% sure?

Yes, just check jebao products and go to hailea or resun web site and you will see identical pumps, filters...
Second, I use sharkman pumps what come few months before jebao pumps, they are very similar so producing line must be the same, I already have sharkman 8000 lit/per hours in use from january and acording to thread about wp25, jebao will release now new 8000 lit/hours model , but those models already exist, bigger sharkman model have 13000 lit/hour so basicaly 2 diferent company release almost identical pump with identical flow? Jebao probably made only controlorer what are different from sharkman models.
one of the big factory produce those pumps with small changes per each company design but they are so similar that there is no way that those are not made in same production line, because sharkman pump was released before jebao pumps I dont think that jebao produce them, that will have no sense.

I think much of the confusion here is in the 2 very similar names.

Jebo claims, on their own website, to have been started as an export/import company. Jebao claims to be a manufacturer.

Would that be from the pump that looks like a Tunze but sounds like a MP40? I wonder if they used a 3D Copier?
