MP40s or 60s

I didnt want to say it. ( :

You you about this right? :
The absolute easiest, no soldering way to get speed control on these are the universal power supplies like this one http://www.amazon.com/Universal-Adap...c+power+supply

The Jebao power supply is connected via a computer AC cord, so you just swap this one in instead. You adjust the voltage sliders to control speed, much like you would with a Tunze power supply. If you want much less flow, you slide it down to 15v or so. Since the pump is DC and voltage controlled, it wont damage it and works great. The actual Tunze power supplies work with this too if you already have one.

Im gonna try it with the voltage lowered which should do the job. worst case scenario ill be picking up a wp25. There's a couple guys using it on there 2 ft cubes and they claim it's fine so i guess i'll find out soon.

Mike, I'm wondering how you will be able to sync it with apex without using it's natural controller.

There's some users already controlling it with there apex, i'm not sure of the process but i know the reef angel crowd a simple $25 harness makes it happen.

dang, it would have been nice if everyone ordered together to avoid that big shipping prices.

I will use my apex to turn on and off, so i dont need to deal with the sensor (im guessing), that way I can run them in the modes I prefer.

Im too excited to wait for you guys lol. FYI- you dont save much

May have to lower the water level ( ;

you are right. There isn't much of a difference lol. I guess that's what I will look for as well.

I guess my fs thread for koralias are coming soon lmbo.

There is a huge thread (over 100 pages) on the WP-40 in the "Lighting and Filtration" section. A lot of people are controlling the WP-40 with variable power supplies but some people are concerened that this will cause the pump to overheat and shorten its life. The talk is way over my head but you may want to check it out before you get one of those variable power supplies.

By Wednesday of next week i will have (2) Mp40s , (2) Mp60s and (2) Wp40s.

they will all be placed in my standard 180 which currently is just running the Mp40s

i will run them all individually and then paired and compare them against each other.

currently the 40's just are not enough for for my liking in the 6 foot tank, they just don't seem to reach the full length of the tank

That would be an awesome thread, try to give us as many details as possible

thanks
