Got myself a used but very new RO/DI system from Craigslist so I am making fresh clean water as we speak. Also about to head out to the wonderful town of Rodeo CA to pick up a used MP10wes. Painted the trim on the stand black might end up painting the rest of it another color but don't know yet.

Right on Luis, Make sure you have a tds meter for the ro system. Well done on the progress. Was that the mp10 for like 200 that was posted on RC? Nice job starting the thread.;)

I need to get me one of those meters then :)

thanks its slow but better this way than rushing and messing up later.

yeah i got from the guy in Rodeo he had it for $190 which is a great price and the pump looks very good almost like new.

stopped at Vallejo Aquarium on the way back and they have a decent selection of corals and fish but I did notice some quarter size aiptasia so I will have to stick with local stores.

Pictures coming soon promise.

I'm getting wet :) first five gallons in then more then salt and the mp10 to stir it all up.

Looks good Luis!
Glad the overflow worked for you!
I like the coast to coast design. Frees up space down below for rock & corals and still let's light penetrate (since most light diverges out as it goes deeper)

Wow. I have never seen a coast to coast overflow on a 40 breeder. All I can say is.... what can be done with that overhang that was created. I joking thought a spray bar right underneath.

Btw... Mr peanut? Planters peanut? What gives?

Did the seller of the rodi have a Tds meter and forgot about it? Worth to ask. I bought my used air water ice rodi and it came with one. It was a hand held one.

Great job on the progress and the new thread start. Thanks for sharing.

Amayeu, I have yet to mount sunset Monti or something on my coast to coast to let it encrust and grow out. I think that would be awesome. The other option is star polyps.

As for overhang... Non photosynthetic SPS would be good idea (but I am too lazy to feed).

Actually, the bottom acrylic of that coast to coast is clear. So maybe Luis can find some way to put a lowlight in the "shadowed" overflow area. Or low light colonies on the back wall would work. Since Luis has SUCH a cool rock structure with enough openness to see the back wall.

I do agree a C2C on a 40gal breeder is rare probably.

But just think! It means he can reuse that C2C in future for a 3x3 cube tank. Hehehehe!

i don't know what to say guys but i do really also love the look of the c2c on my tank. no, he was not named after the planters peanut it was his name given by my little niece. he said he game me all that came with the rodi and i did check online with the vendor but they did not include one. good thing my younger brother got one with his drinking water filter he bought so i will borrow from him :)

I like the tank, it is going to look very cool when it's done. Since you are starting fresh, make sure to not ADD anything you don't like or ordinary because you are going to regret it when it takes over your tank. Be very selective.

Yeah, on this one i will be very selective and do intensive research before i add anything. The only thing i know i really want in this one is as always my pair of clowns and your anemone :) i saw Steve had some for sale on craigslist just like it.

As promised another picture. This you can see the mp10 on the near side, the far side has an mj400 just until the salt is mixed then that one will become the sump pump for my other brothers 10 gallon. WITH SUMP.

Tom,
If Luis doesn't want it, I'll buy/trade you. It looks more interesting than my GBTA.

Haha i did not say i did not want it. when my tank is ready i would love to get it of you but if you also want to sell it that no problem I'll hope and pray it splits again when my tank is ready :)

So far everything is going slow and stay. After get home from work i start making more water and so far i have 20 gallons mixed. The only problem i am having is with the MP10 being loud.

When are we going to see the tank with the rock structure inside? I want to see how the rock structure hides\covers the bottom line of the C2C.

Also, to reiterate the above, I would be so very cafeful and check your TDS, if your RODI is not 100% you could be asking for trouble from the get go.

Looking good though, nice job.

I think MPs run loud. Mine has a rubber pad (since my glass is thick so I can't use the provided gap adjustment spacer boot). It rattles if bit centered.

If you are using in your sleeping room, then MPs are not good because the outer motor rotates. Maybe change for Koralia's.

I may look into an MP10 for my frag tank.
