So, your saying tap another drain into the lid and run it to the waste container?
No it is just to let the air out.The drain you have now will be used for the waste. My own skimmer is done this way.The drain line you have now is not a good way to get the air out of the skimmer.

You must not run an auto shut off waste collector then?

Not a big deal if I don't have one as the skimmer really never goes nuts, but would like to have it none the less.

Is the Panworld model Pan World 50PX-X Magnetic Water Pump
comparable to the blueline?

Blueline and Panworld are one and the same but the model numbers are a bit confusing. Blueline 55HD is equal to Pan World 150PS. the 50px-x is not a high pressure pump and will not be adequate.

MR-2, dual injector pump question

MR-2, dual injector pump question

For those running an MR-2 with dual injectors give me some feedback on the pump you are using. Would you choose something with more or less gph or head pressure than what you have? How about noise levels?

quick question about a problem I am having with my MR3-

I just upgraded it to a second beckett and while it is skimming more effectively, the auto-waste collector now causes water to spit out of the air intakes for the becketts.

I never had this problem before with the single beckett. You can imagine how happy I was to come down this morning to a huge puddle of water around my skimmer. Nothing else changed- what gives??

I believe the problem to be your injecting more air now, and the drain from the skimmer cup isn't large enough to evacuate that air effectivly, so the air is trying to escape elsewhere.

Try this, remove the lid when the skimmer is running and see if the foam spills over much quicker. This is what I just noticed yesterday.

I'm thinking of adding a second drain line to let the air out much easier. Just contacted Andy as well to see what he thinks.

Just want to ask a question for CR users,

Do you use Kalk? if so how fo you dose it.

I am setting up a CR-2 and want to look at a kalk stirer or some way to dose kalk for RO top up water.

Thanks in advance

Link would be fine

I use a CR-4 calcium reactor and an MRC kalk reactor. The kalk keeps the pH up at night and adjusts calcium. The Ca reactor adjusts alkalinity. I add water to the calcium reactor from a fluid media chamber filled with sulphur that acts as a denitrification bed. The kalk is stirred once every 2 hours and is added via a Tunze osmilator. The Tunze runs for about 30 seconds every 45 minutes or so.

thanks ericreef.....that seems to be what is happening.

The hole on mine is 1/2" so I got a 1/2" MPT / 3/4" hose barb and all is better. Put the bigger size on the waste collector too.

Bathypelagic,

I am driving my dual-Beckett MR3 w/ the Blueline HD70. I wasn't too concerned about the noise since all equipment is in the basement, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that it is very quiet. It drives the skimmer very well, even though I used a Tee to branch off to the two Becketts. I imagine that if I rreplace the Tee with a Wye it would be even better.

YMMV,

Mike

Bathypelagic, i'm running dual becketts with a GRI 520, but think it is a little to small for the 44" height of my skimmer. I think if the skimmer was shorter, it would work alot better.

As far as noise, mine is in the basement so it's really hard to tell how loud it is, but it doesn't seem to loud at all.
