try to raise ur water level to the bottom of the beckett & start to open ur air valve till u see fine bubbles walk away come back in 15 & see how its doing.
make sure u clean it so u can find ur sweet spot.

is anyone using a mag 18 on their MR-1 skimmer. Is it an OK pump for this skimmer. I have to use an internal pump and a mag 18 is all Ive got

The becketts will work better if you could used a pressure rated pump any MRC skimmer needs one to work right.

Go to the Tunze sponsors page thay have the the pic and the cost,much lower than the vortech pump and you can move from side to side.

I've noticed that the center piece in my injecter(the part that rattles) has a small hole in it between the 2 of the 4 fins,i was wondering if you guys had holes in your injecters also.
Mine is a grey injecter and ive noticed that most i see now are black.

I ordered a second injector a few weeks ago and have not put it on yet. Mine is gray as well. I also just pulled it apart and I have the same hole. Looks like it's just part of the molding process and shouldn't be an issue

and PS... If you glue the whatchamagizmo to 1/2 of the becket housing it will quit rattling... There are instruction with photos somewhere in this thread

Thanks,ya i just unglued mine today and thats when i saw the hole in the injecter.I thought maybe it was wearing out or something after a few years.
Is your hole clear through the plastic and not just divits?

The hole goes into, but not all the way through it. So I guess it's more than a divit...

i just got an mrc2 and i'm tring to set it up but it just keeps filling completely up with water to the waste spout i've tried opening and closing up the gate value more and turning the pump up and down(mag 12)(that's what i have at this point)
just getting mad trying to figure this out. it's got to be some human error somewhere. any help please.

lol pics of my soon to be electricution.i have a 55 gallon tank as a sump with the mag drive for the return on that and that goes intothe breckett then nest a standard 1.5 fitting some pvc to an elbow and straight up to the tank for the return.(haven't glued the pcv for this reason in case i screwed something up.)

I think that you said that you are trying to feed the skimmer w/ the mag and then run the return from the gate valve of the skimmer. If I read that right, it won't work and will do exactly what you described... I'll get some pics of my set up, but it's not perfect or anything similar to your set up

Something sounds screwy. From what you said above (or how I understand it), you have your return pump pumping into the skimmer, and then from the skimmers output up to the tank? Did I get that right?
