MTRC nomination for 2011

I guess it's up to Andy. I don't want to take it if he is still interested in holding the position. Besides, don't we have to be voted into these positions? ;)

For the voting rights of IT or PR... I haven't read the bylaws but what does the BOD vote on? I was just wondering because, IMO, I have always thought it would be better if all of the club members vote on a decision. Putting a decision on the 4 board members has typically been a recipe for chaos from what I've seen in the past.

Yes, Any Major decisions will be put to a vote of the membership, But there are certain Items that only board members will be needed to vote on.
Andy has deferred to you Donny so we are counting on you for the IT position and Andy will help you If and when needed. The IT was alway's a Committee Chair position B4 last year and we plan to vote it back to that status, This is an Item that can be voted on at the next meeting if the old board agrees or we can do it after the elections.
And I'm not totally versed in all the rules yet so If i mispeak call my attention to it and correct me as I have thick skin, Or i wouldn't take this job in the first place!LOL:smokin:

Andy has defeered to you with his help if needed as he will be out of pocket for 3-4 months. I hope you will accept the Nomination.

At the risk of being boo'd or perhaps slapped, how are the folks that are paid members that aren't on RC making their nominations? I don't see anything posted on the MTRC site about how to nominate someone (like a post in a forum) or any type of announcement that nominations/elections are occurring. The meeting next week regarding nominations isn't posted either.

Don't get me wrong, the nominations made here are great ones - but shouldn't all members have the opportunity to nominate someone if they wish to? I mean, if only one person is nominated for each position, its not much of a election, cause there isn't any need to vote!

Last year we were new members and missed this whole process because we didn't know it was going on. Just my thoughts on the matter. I am now going to hide under the coffee table in order to avoid what might be thrown at me. :D

Jennie , It's a Valid point but in reality there are not really many people that want the job that are Qualified to run the club. You as a paid member can nominate anyone you want to any position on the board.

As far as everyone voting on every decision made is just not feasable or necessary IMO
Like what the Meeting Schelude or Door Prizes and other freebies we can afford to get for meeting or things of this nature. This is what the BOD is elected for! To make certain decesions for the club and it's members. And To my Suprise many members don't even Vote anyway or attend meetings as much as they should (Including me in the Past) But If Elected I will attend every one possible.

Jennie you can nominate someone right here on this thread if you like, My Wife said I did not answer your question. Hope this makes it very clear, Nomination is only part of the equation you must then be elected by a majority vote. hope this is clear to how the process works.
I am much more concerned with getting things moving again in the right direction than has been going on these past few years than Quoting Bylaws per say, Every important change is voted on by membership and majority rules (Period)

Bill, I'll accept the nomination.

To answer your question, since I still think Bill kinda missed it :D :wildone:

Those that are not on RC (which the majority are, unless they are new) have the opportunity to cast their nominations at the meeting that is coming up next. That is what this meeting will be for. As for as posting this info on our clubs site, that is kinda up to the current BOD's and looks like they missed the boat on that one. The new BOD this year will take these items into consideration and make that change next year.

Hope that answers it for you.

I noticed that the Bylaws has an error, says membership is 20 bucks a year, but on the site it says 10 bucks.

Thanks for answering. I've always emailed people that I don't see on the forums. And post it on the club website.like For group buys. I'm slacking on this one to post on our club site.

We just change the fee I guess we missed that one sorry I'll bring it up with Andy.

Also if no one is nominated by Sunday. I guess there is no need to vote and we the old bod can hand everything over to the new bod. So it be great for those people can make the meeting.

Thanks zef

Thanks Rick - that answered it. Think Bill misunderstood what I was I saying/asking... I know I can nominate someone here - what I was trying to point out is that those not on RC won't! Besides, the nominations I would have made, were already made by others. :D

I just think it is important that all members have the opportunity to participate in the nomination/elections if they want to - and if other newer members are like us, it was 6 or so months after we joined MTRC that we found RC (and only because we went to the MTRC meeting at AC and asked someone where everybody "hung out" online). Its not written anywhere on the MTRC web "hey, nobody really uses these forums anymore, if you want the latest news or to comminicate with other members go to RC".

I think it should be on the home page of the MTRC about the nomination meeting, list elections on the "news" page, that there should be a post in the MTRC forums about nominations/elections, etc. That is what I was getting at - I should not have been so cryptic! :beachbum:

We hope to have Donny (IT) Guy make some updates so more people will use the Club Site But not too many people like it in it's current form. There will be some changes that will be announced after the election.
Bill
