Mutt's Build - IM's New Fusion 40

Bizacon. Thanks for your input. I actually bought the tank and stand... I was just skeptical of particle board stands, plus I didn't build it myself. Looking at the new AquaMaxx HOB-XC for my skimmer.... It will be my first skimmer. Looks like a bigger model of the original AquaMaxx HOB.
Ha. Apparently I need to actually read people's post twice :fun2: No worries there, the weight is distributed well across the stand. I ordered a custom container for the ATO which works great for that.
Regarding skimmers. I had the AquaMaxx HOB-1 ordered, but after looking at the new IM ghost, I went with that. Like the clean look. The ghost looks very similar to the Tunze 9004, so I am going to give it a try. Arrives on Friday.

Yeah just saw the new AquaMaxx HOB-XC today... its a big boy.. Nice choice for the carbon dosers out there!
Should have some new pics up tomorrow.. Added another mp10 to anti-sync!

I was thinking about doing another mp10, but was thinking that might be a little too crazy if I am not going down the SPS road. Can't wait to see pictures.

Do you have the Avast ATO I am looking to get one today. Does it have some kinda of controller or is it just a switch?

Mine is controlled by my ApexLite controller. However, you can get the Avast with a switch that can open and close the power to the ATO pump.

This may seem like a silly question but I have only ever owned AIOs that are closed top. How loud are these with all the equipment, pump, skimmer, overflow etc... running together? I ask since this will be in the living room and the wife likes it quiet.

Sorry, was on a camping trip with the family... The skimmer and ecotechs are the only thing keeping this thing silent. However, this does not bother me since the tank is in my office.

A few weeks ago I was surfing the internet looking for reviews on this aquarium. I found this thread. 2 days Later I happen to find this tank at one of my LFS. It now resides in my home. I have 1 single Kessil 150 sky blue over it. I wish I bought the 360w. I also have to figure out how to add lunar lights.

Not too sure.. I checked the interior specs from the manual prior to looking at the skimmer.. You can get the manual here

Did you have any problems with micro bubbles when you set up your tank? I setup a Fusion 40 a couple of months ago and I'm still seeing a lot of them. I've been thinking it might be air getting pulled in from the top part of the return locline that sits just above the water surface.
