No, not yet...thank goodness :)

Algea is a good thing. Means there is life. You will have it sooner or later weather you want it or not. Pray it comes fast and goes just as fast.

So, I completed the move last night.... man it is weird to look at a tank full of coral but with no water. Very nerve racking.

So are any of you strapping young lads available tonight or tomorow night to help with the move?? It will just be moving the tank and stand, and we can probably get away with 2 people (that's all I had originally). My only rush is that I want to get this tank going so that I can vacate the current tank for the zoo.
Adam

Well the strapping and young kinda leaves me out but if old and weak is of help id be happy to. Tomorrow is fine with me also.

ok great, then tomorrow night. What time is good for everyone, I'm normally free at 5 or anytime after (but could be earlier if need be)??

Let's say 5:30 and we can change if necessary. I think we all also need to hit up Dave's at some point to pick up our reeftopia stuff

Adam, your right. We do need to get our stuff we ordered. Would be nice to do it all in one shot. I have to come up anyway.

I have to pick my daughter up for spring break and will be in mansfield tonight sorry adam. Good luck

Thanks to everyone who offered and especially Ryan&Frank! The tank and stand are in place and filling slowly... 5 gallons at a time hauled up from the basement :)

I wish that you would have said something, I have a large pond sized pump connected to a python hose that you could use if you need to move water quickly....

Dave

Thanks :), I could have tried something with my Mag7, but it would need like 50 Ft of hose, or a hole in the floor.... I need the exercise anyways... and my RO Brute only holds 37G at a time so it will be in increments

ok, now to build the canopy. I'm going to build a flip top where prettythe whole front face (and I think some of the top and sides) will be able to flip wide open and rest on the top. I'm going to be running 2 x250 MH's with standard reflectors. Questions:
1. How high off the water should the MH's be? ( and is that to the Lamp or reflector?)
2. Should I mount them parallel or perpendicular to the front glass? Each is going to be over a 2'x2' area with the tank brace in between. I'd like to mount them parallel so I don't get a sun tan when the canopy is open, but I think perpendicular will reflect light under the brace better. Any thoughts?

My bulbs are 10" off the water and parallel to the front glass. There is no problem at that placment as far as the center brace goes. I get good coverage and see no reason to change the way they are. I dont think it makes a ton of difference what way you have them. Make sure you build in a fan tho. I have to do that and have been waiting till warmer weather so I can take the canapy out side and do that. I have to leave my doors open because of heat. Dont underestimate the heat issue. Its hot and I nmean HOT inside the canapy with 2 MH's going.
