My 1st 180 RR Project, Cust Built stand/canopy Tunzes etc..

OK I just took out the baffle that lets it overflow into the return section and WOW did that quiet it down alot, but still other little noises to work out. But ill wait for tommorow, just couldnt stand that waterfalls noise any more!!!! Talking about having to peee alot!!!! LOL
 
mike I am not sure how close up you need but on my thread there is a pic or 2 showing the sump and socks and plumbing falling into it. let me know if you need a closer pic and I will see what I can do. click my little red house and it will take you right to it.
good thing taking that out I am sure that was annoying. what time tomorrow? I am watching the hockey game at 8 pm so I will have to leave by 7 at the latest. sorry but it's game 6 of the finals. I watch as much hockey as I can but this may be the last game for a few months so I have to see it.
 
LOL, thats cool Rob, about the game ya could always watch it here also ( but I can see ya wanting to watch it out the comfort of ya own home!! for the yelling and cheering!!but we dont care about the yelling or cheering!!), well whatever time ya can make it is cool, As long as we have enogh time for some pizza or whatever you and ya girl want. Dont ya have a job in the morning to do?

What is blue glue? Is that just PVC solvent/glue?

blue pvc glue is for wet or dry situations. it gets hotter than clear and normally seals better . you can also use it underwater and it will cure. in our hobby it is always good to have a glue that will work underwater. home depot and lowes carry it for about $4.50 or so a pint.

Yeah, I emailed the guy who has it and so far he hasent responded :( . I also seen in his thread for things he has for sale he hasent been answering any questions, but he could be Pm'ing people. So im gonna give it till this weekend and hopefully Ill here from him. I know its getting inportant for me to have a skimmer, so if I dont hear from him im going to have to go another route which stinks, but i gotta do what i gotta do!!! Im working next door right now so ill be in and out!!!

Thanks for the update. I agree PVC glue that works under water sounds like a must. I will get some next time I am in a large box store.

Paul, tanks doing well........something!!!!, I added some bacteria to it and some base rock and now the water looks like milk!!! Somethings going on!!! Ill have some pics once it gets cleared up...
 
bacteria blooms are great mike don't worry. it's not really the prodibio bacteria you added it's the vinegar that didn't get rinsed well enough. it really isn't a big deal just not pretty. did you take pictures of it in full bloom? might be of scientific use sometime.
 
LOL na no pics!!! Its looks like crapola!!! Ohh yeah dood my son broke his arm the other day :( can you believe that???&%#%^$ The poor kid is in a cast now, so much for his summer :(

awwww man. as rough as we were on him and all we gave him was a couple of scratches? poor guy. margie will be sad to hear that for sure.
 
Yeah its a shame, he did even cry , he was just wimpering. I thought he would have screamed, the 1st night it happend it was swoolen, but NEVER would have thought it was broken, he had a rough night that night and than the next morning it was really swollen, so we took him to his doc and than we had to go to st pete to all childrens hospital, than they were waiting for the x ray to come back to see if he needed surgeory to repair it because the break was right near the elbow..Thank god as of right now no surgeory, we have an orthopedic appt Monday to fit him in a real cast and too look at the x rays in more detail, hes in a temp one for now till than....

As far as aquascaping goes, once I get all of my rocks than Ill do that, for now I just put them in there...
 
mike your socks are due for washing. I find it best to turn the inside out and lay them on the driveway and blast them with the hose before washing them in the laundry on hot with plain bleach no scent is what I have always been told. I always make sure to dry them in the drier to evaporate any chlorine. not sure if it breaks the chloromine bound or not but the seperated chlorine will be gone. oh yeah and extra rinse cycle never hurts either. see why it's nice to have more than one set? you can wash 8-12 at a time. leaving them in a bucket of bleach water over night before you wash them seems to make them come out whiter also.

Yeah Im going to get some more so I dont have to wait till these are done and dry, alot easier have a few extra sets on hand. I might shoot out to the local fish store and pick some up or maybe if I got some time I can head to John's with the wife and kido so they can see that store and how nice it is!!
