this is a green LTA from DD
this i pretty much what it looked like from the picture when i ordered it just more green.
Tank info:
it is in a 6g fluval edge that is plumbed to a 25g sump via a eshopps nano overflow. i have a 8 watt innovative marine led fixture over it
. i have a aqua c urchin skimmer in there along with a bag of chemi pure, bag of carbon, bag of gfo all of this is on top of live rock in the section where bio balls used to be so good flow over the media. i have a ATO setup from AutoTopoff.com. i even have a soccer size ball of chaeto in the sump. the tank is almost 2 yrs old nothing in there but some palys and a hairy mushroom one clownfish and 2 sexy shrimp. ( snails and hermits as well) my return pump provides most of the flow but i do have a nano powerhead in there that is only on during the day.
not sure if i tagged this right b/c i usually just read these threads and very seldom post anything.
Parameters: all test kits sailfert
sg 1.025
no3 0 - .5ppm
po4 0 (hanna checker)
ca 455
dhk 9
mag 1350
ph 8.2 - 8.3 apex ph probe
tried to give all important info if i left anything out let me know.
i orginally positioned it right underneath the light to make sure it had enough exposure. i also have almost 5 inches of sand in that tank. i had a mj600 in there from before with the little plastic prefilter they come with. i had turned off the pump to let the anenome settle in. well it moved from where i had it the first night, but after a few days it stayed put. so i turned the powerhead back on. woke up in the middle of the night saw the anenome stuck to the plastic prefilter on the powerhead. :mad2: i got it free and didn't lose any tenticles if you can believe that. that is why i got the new powerhead by the way. well when that happened it moved again about 8" away from where it was.
the problem:
since the powerhead incident it has bleached quite a bit. i expected this b/c from what i have read most nems do this at first, but the mouth is open most of the time. now just past the mouth is closed so you can't see down the column or its throat. just the exterior mouth is open. it does eat very well tenticles are very sticky. once it has something the sexy shrimp can't take it away so i know its sticky. i does close its mouth right after a meal, and at night when the moon lights are on. i can see that its foot is stuck to the glass bottom b/c of the design of the tank you can see under the side its on. it hasn't lost anymore of its color in fact it seems to be regaining color or maybe its my imagination. it looks much better under the moon lights. i have had this nem going on 2 months now. the mouth situation has been going on for all but maybe 3 days of that time. it is fully open tenticles are all fat and long. other than the mouth and color it looks and acts healthy. i would like to point out it hasn't moved since the power head incident.
my question:
does it sound like it will be alright?
is there anything i should do?
what should i be looking out for?
i am feeding every 3 days. should i continue this?
does it sound doomed to die?
