Do I have to?

My tank is 72X30X30 In wall with a coast to coast overflow.

Lighting:
Three 400W Reeflux. 2-10K 1-12K (In center)

Flow:
Closed loop using 8-way OM driven by Ampmaster 4600
Iwaki 70RLT return driving 2 Penductors

DIY Venturi skimmer & CA Reactor a buddy made

I have a hard time getting full tank shots but here's a try..

Wow! How big is that CA reactor? How often do you have to refill that?

It is a beast We had the extra material and I didnt have spacial constraints, so why not keep an extra foot or two

It's 6 inches in diameter and about 3ft tall. My friend did an awesome job putting it together.. It's fluidized with a pan world pump and I use ROWAlith media designed for fluidized reactors.

I'll add some more media soon, but I honestly don't know because it's been runnign for only a month and It's never been filled much beyond whats in there now.

A month and you got that much coraline aglae growing on all over the place? That is impressive

i believe he meant the calcium reactor. that has to be a year of coralline or more.

lol Yea the tank has been running for about 18months now

I tried to scrape the corraline off the sides and back about an hr ago, but I'm not sure its worth the effort..

The Camera is an old Sony DSC85. It's done me proud for over three years now, but I hope to upgrade next year sometime.

so wha were you using to supplement ca/alk before the calcium reactor. Most of that growth occured before that was put in.

Quick question, hope you dont mind. I'm considering an Iwaki 100 w/4 penductors. Any thoughts? What has your experience been with the 2 penductors on the 70?

Do they live up to your expectations?
