Here's the beginning of the thread, things are moving, i am awaiting fans to arrive for the hood and am still in search of a reflector for the canopy.

Here it was setup as last week:

Now that was FW, i've begun the transfer, the lighting wasn't bright enough for my needs to swapped it out for a 175w MH Mogel Base 14k lighting system :)

The fans coming in are 80mm, will consist of four fans built into the canopy glowing blue with Blue LED's :)

I have chosen to go with a Large CPR refugium for this:

It cracked during shipment but i was able to repair it and th ewater level doesnt even go that high so it'll be alright:

More pics to come of the system!

Where did you get the CPR fuge from? I would think that the shipping company would have to take care of that and get you a new one. That's not cool.

yea i know, got it from here, but by the time you get a check in the mail and all that BS, tank would be postponed quite a bit. Minor crack was able to take care of, we're in middle of group order on fish, so tank has to get up if i plan on getting in on fishies :)

Your off to a great start.

I was thinking of using a CPR HOB refugium on a future tank but would like to ask you a couple questions about it if you don't mind.

1.) Is it made out of acrylic or glass? it looks like acrylic.
2.) What brand of pump does it come with?

I was actually thinking about later down the line, swapping out the CPR with a AC500 refugium and install a skimmer on it, but not sure yet, i dont plan for a heavy bioload.

The CPR is made out of acrylic, it comes standard with a Rio pump, not sure which model will have to look.

Now if i remember reading, that the Rio pumps had a tendacy of going out on people so they were upgarding, but maybe that was just on the skimmer's hmmmm...

was $90 shipped. I am having trouble locating the proper lighting for it though, i remember a few months ago Jalli had a 13w light that sat perfect on these refugiums HMMM, anyone elseknow a lead? i'd rather not have clip on, but dont want to fork out the butt for one as i know Jalli is cheap

Nice start...thinking about moving to a 29 also...i think the cpr fuges are great. I have a smaller one on my 20. I have it running with a maxijet 600 i believe and works great I also heard some bad stories about the rio pumps.

As far as the light on mine, I happened to be at home depot one day and purchase a power compact desk lamp. Its made by "lights of america" it was on sale for like 20 bucks so i figured what the heck and my macro had done great.

How did you fix that crack? You are better off cutting a piece of acrylic and using weldon over the entire area.

Hmm, alright that crack i simply siliconed it on each side, it's holding, since it's actually just on the line of the water line, it was when the refugium began bowing i ran into problems. I fixed it with good ole packing tape! Dont ask how but it works lol. Until we can figure something else out.

Now with the 175w i am very impressed with the fans! we could only install two. The temp variance after 8hrs, is.................0.8 degree's!! My House is kept right around 70-73 degree's year round. The fans really really put out the heat i'm very pleased with them and they give them MH's style
:bum:

O that door is getting fixed tomorrow, i accidently kicked it and it loosened the glue or whatever held it at one of the corners.

cool! Nice tank. I was actually thinking of getting some 120mm computer fans for when I build my canopy for my 55. They were going to have blue LED's on the corners and stuff also. I like em. Looking good so far, keep up the good work! I'll take along to.

how far off the water will that 175 bulb be?

I have been told if they get splashed while on they shatter! Wonder what happens if a fish jumps and hits the bulb.... will they stick to it? <-- serious question cause i have one that is a splasher when he jumps... i recently put eggcrate on to prevent it.
