so i understand correctly that you're running a kalk reactor purely to raise pH as being lowered by calcium reactor effluent?

Here is what AVAST has that I am referring to above as Kalk Reactor =KR :" K2 Kalk Stirrer " this adds Alkalinity to the system and is used as the top of water to add such Alkalinity... Eventually I stop my doser and rely fully on CR & KR to supplement my tank rather than continue to dose expensive products. I will be doing both for first year dosing Calc Alk & mag plus running CR & KR

Overnight I decided to go with Precision Marine Professional Kalk Reactor. Anyone tried this one and has an opinion let me hear it please early this am before I place the order and tahnsk

I owned it but never really used it too much so I sold it to a friend of mine who still uses it and loves it. The build quality was excellent.

Bought them off a hobbyist. Were so huge in my 65g temp housing Moved to 500g Need info on how close to SPS other corals I can place them?

at the time I was using it, my system was much smaller and I was keeping my demands up with dosing esv 2 part. When I upgraded tanks I went back and forth between my ca reactor and dosing esv 2 part. I couldnt dial things in with my reactor and ultimately stuck with dosing 2 part. I think the big problem was my regulator and on my new tank that Im working on now I will be using just the ca reactor. I bought a really good regulator and hopefully that will do the job. If I find that I need to add kalk for ph issues I will most likely just put kalk in my ato bin and draw it from there.

My first setup I used ESV two part dosing and corals loved it. Then I gradually moved into calc reactor and Kalk reactor and that worked for me after a year of adjusting. Used to be a pain with Kal reactor using a stir bar that gets stuck etc.. I am starting(not yet connected) doser for Mag Alk Calc and combo with reactors calc & alk. Hopefully I will be able to get good Alkalinity and get off the expense of dosing. Thanks Steve

Need to establish a connection with my APEX 60 feet away in the basement. Can I buy a male/female USB that will work when connected to an aquabus cable then the aquabus is connected to the APEX-EB8 unit? Where can I buy such a cable and do I just ask for a USB cable with M/F terminals?

I ordered 50ft cord made by a third party just for apex users. I will find the website and post it here. They can make longer lengths if needed.

Thanks you guys.. Great help appreciate it. Water storage tanks in the basement and setup 60 feet or so away. will have to put the cable into the walls we opened up for plumbing & electrical .. Matt will not be making it here tomorrow so next progress on the build will be after Th. Meanwhile on with moving corals & couple of fish into the new home. Thanks again monkiboy & Steve.

Do I need any special connectors to extend the float switch to the APEX B/O box? Any neat way to do it?

@Osama - a microphone cable is an easy to use extension and you can jump them together to make longer ones. Any cable 18-22g will work.

smb I used an old electronic audio/video wires and it is working and I thank you
