I still need to extend the tubes down a bit more and put the end covers on them. I also think I will have to extend the dome on the roof up as it seems like its too close to the roof get all the sun it can get. I also plan on adding the dimmer controls in the near future as well. Thanks! I'm happy to have another item checked off the list. I'm sad to realize that in 2 weeks I will have had this tank for 2 years and I'm still at least 6 months away from water, probably more. Oh well, step by step.

Are you gonna drop them down another 15" or so?

They need to come down about 18" more to be 18" off the top of the tank. 12" worth of the tube will slide on and off to make more room above the tank for when I need to be up there.

Man, I am so interested in Solatubes as a lighting solution. A couple of questions if you don't mind:

1). Why would you need dimmers?

2). On one of the Australian build threads the owner went without lenses on the inside to max the light input. Have you considered doing this?
