I hope to have water in it in 4 months or so. I have had the skimmer for over 3 years and never put a drop of water in it. You can bet I'm a bit ready to get it going.

Got most of the painting done over the last few days. Still have a few touch ups but mostly completed.

Living room side.

I have been following along for a long time as my wife and I are planning something similar if we ever build our new house.

I finally sent my wife the pictures from photobucket as I care not to show her the long process but only the finished project!

And it looks great! She is starting to be on board with the whole thing, but she wants a custom shade built on the bedroom side, so that you can't see through to the bedroom if we are having people over and its a mess!

And I just noticed your photobucket account name. Are you a Supra owner? I had a 95TT 6-spd and loved it. Sold it because of a girl...arghhh... and can't find one around here that is stock TT and manual and under 40K

The shade or curtain on the bedroom side is a must. I have found some remote operated ones on line for a few hundred dollars. That is one of the next things on the list. I'm not currently a Supra owner but I planto be in the future. It is hard to find one under 40K anywhere. I look forward to your build!

Hopefully water in 4 months. It will take a month or 2 to cycle. So around 6 months or so, hopefully. I have a very large fish list that I'm looking forward to stocking.

Lol... 540 gallons deserves a great fish list... It's a great looking system, and I'm glad to hear about adding a curtain to the bedroom side... :)

Looking great Ryan, I'm rather intrigued by the solar power, I may bug you when we start building our house in a few years....Looking forward to seeing water and fish....Of course I'm also looking forward to Basketball season, but that's just because football season isn't going so well.:thumbdown
