My 540G Inwall Display Build Thread

This was a nice update. It looks like you are going to have a nice coversation piece on hand. Have you thought about getting bar stools?

Nice

Nice

This is a really nice!!!
The living room work is amazing...But I feel like the tank deserves better on the bedroom side. It looks like a Vegas casino's bar tank on one side, the bedroom should be just as nice. That curtain doesn't make for an attractive background ether. Have you ever considered a piece of one way glass? They make glass panels that turn translucent with the press of a button. A solid panel with remote control actuators would be really cool too. If you are dead set on curtains, get some double sided ones. You would need a nice rod and send them all the way down to the floor, this will give the feel of a window with curtains closed. Just my two cents.

Great build, my favorite part is the shed equipment room!!!
Go big or go home, I got to see where this goes. (subscribed)

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm Show off:dance: hey size matters buds well done love the detail and the time that you put into this. As for you neighbor hmmm I would have clocked him at 0540hrs but you didn't your a nicer buy then I am. any ways after looking at your setup and I need to give you a pointer if you don't mind. you have gone through some much high end detail.

Loose the fabric in the bedroom. I would go with a automatic blind that opens and closes with a remote. and make a frame around it now that would be cool.

This would be a modern design. I'm not sure on the prices these days. I used this stuff on an office building owners office and it looks perfectly clear one second and frosted over the next. I don't know anything about this company, and they are not the only ones making this stuff. (can't remember the brand we used). Commonly known as Smart Glass, or Switchable Glass.

Hope this was of help to you.

One way Glass

If you were talking about one way, it is just a film that would appear as a mirror for the living room, and tinted glass from your bedroom.

Ether option would allow you to put a picture frame around the tank. If you use the one-way not only will it be cheaper but you will have a 24 hour view of your tank and living room from your bedroom, and the living room will never see in.

I think I might be on to something for a future build for myself:strooper:

If I cover the loc line I wont be able to redirect them if I want to. As far as the pond foam goes it will one day be covered in algae like everything else and you wont be able to tell the difference. It just takes time.

I wonder how this stuff would hold up to the daily rubbing of my magnet cleaner...

I plan to make some changes to the bedroom side but it will have to work for now as other aspects are more important, like fish :) I can add trim and change the way to get privacy in my bedroom at any time.
