My Bigger Piece of the Reef (LotsOPics)

By criminal records... do you mean "underground cd's"?

Here's some picks of the caves and pass throughs with pvc in them for depth...

I wanted it to be as unique as possible... with open spaces for the fish and plenty of spots for coral placement.

Here's my fish list:

Chocolate Mimic Tang (from my other tank)
3 baby yellow tangs
Convict Tang?
12 to 15 small Blue/Green Chromis
5 Evansi Anthias
5 Dispar Anthias
3 Midas Blennies
2 mated pairs of clowns
A mated pair of Bangai Cardinals
Pair of signal gobies
Pair of Green Mandarins
4 or 5 other gobies

7 or 8 Emerald crabs
4 Porceline crabs
3 cleaner shrimps

Stay away from crabs they will kill your snails.I wanted to know what did you put on the backround after it dried.Did you use resign and then sand on it.I forget.

My lfs sell sand in 20 lb bags and then they also have sand in buckets that they sell be the pb. I bought 2 lbs of the largest grain (crushed coral) which was probably about the size of BB's or a little bigger. I still have more than half of this left over... as I just sprinkled a little on first. Then I went thru about 6 lbs of sugar sixed grain sand.

And yes... I brushed the resin on and then sprinkled the sand.

I love my crabs.

I love my crabs.

They're opportunistic omnivores...none in my tank.

i just have to say:
this tank is coming along quite well, i too put a lot of time into aquascaping but didnt have the "balls" to use the eggcrate and foam since it was my first tank. I went with the option of baserock that was hadmade and created many caves in the rockwork for my fish. Then placed liverock ontop of it. I can show you pics if anyone is interested.

Not evil... Mis-understood.

I've got half the water in and my closed loop is running with no leaks... Ok... one little one but it is at the exit from the pump. I only had about 100 gallon capacity in the garage so I am making the other 100 gallons and I'm hoping she'll be full by Monday morning.

Right now I'm trying to figure out how to get my skimmer in the stand.

Vary nice i like it alot. I'm doing a 180 and i just finished the room. I wasen't sure witch way to go bare or sand. I look at yours and get more confused. I guess i will figure it out when that day comes. Keep up the good work Kannin.

My personal opinion... BB doesn't look natural... Plus... I like gobies and other sand dwellers.

Well... I started putting the water in it Saturday...

I dumped water directly into the bucket sitting in the tank.

This is 110 gallons...

It is all of the storage capacity that I had... So I started making more right away but, with the low temps we've been experiencing... I was lucky to be making a gallon per hour.

So... yesterday afternoon I figured I was getting close to having enough so, I started putting it in... Oh, by the way... no leaks in the closed loop... Hurray! I ran out and figured I needed another 30 gallons or so, I ran down to the lfs and bought 35 gallons of RO and came back and put it in because I was really excited to start using my return and skimmer...

Guess what... I figured wqrong. The 35 gallons got me to here...

Here's a shot of the overflow just a half inch above the water line...

Lfs closed so I have to wait 'til tonight to finish the job. I've got 30 gallons mixed and ready to go.

Well... I got it going last night and it took another 45 gallons. My ASM G4X is working overtime.

I drilled the holes in the top of the drain pipes too big and it restricted the flow. I plugged the holes and it got extremely loud.

This is my first experience with this. I would have thought it would have been the opposite.

Does anyone have any pointers in this area???
