crazy4acros: Thanks for all your help and tips! I know my aquascape won't come close to being as nice as yours, but I'll be very happy if it's close :)

Beautiful tank BTW. I have a question. My tank is in the middle of cycling, click on the red house to see. We want to do a custom aquascape and I have already ordered Fiberglass Rods. Can I use the underwater apoxy on wet rock. I dont want to have to dry it completly becuase I am afraid it we cause my tank to restart a cycle.

Yes you can use it on wet rocks it may take a little getting use to though, good luck with your aquascaping.

No problem, it's a 20k Radium.

This tank is the floor plan I am using for my dream tank. It's got everything that I am looking for.

A few questions...

1) How are you hanging that pendant with out seeing the electrical cord that goes to the ballast?

2) Have you thought about actinics for the evening & moon lights for the night time? If so, how are you going to incorporate them into that clean, minimalistic look?

3) What kind of material did you use to wrap the stand in?
3a) I assume you designed this tank to have all 3 or 4 sides to have access, so how did you attach the main portion of them so they can come off easily?

Are you having a lot of success using just one 400W Lumenarc III? I will be setting up a 36X36X20 soon, but I was worried that the Lumenarc's spread might not be enough on a tank of these dimensions.

A) It's all an illusion hahahah, the wire is actually running through the blinds behind the tank.

2) Have you thought about actinics for the evening & moon lights for the night time? If so, how are you going to incorporate them into that clean, minimalistic look?

A) No, I have done the whole Actinic/moonlight thing in the past and i have planed this tank to be as simple as possible i am currently using natural sunlight for my Dawn/Dusk effect. Although i have been contemplating on using 20k spotlights to enhance that.

3) What kind of material did you use to wrap the stand in?

A) Wood/laminate

Aa) I have used many fasteners in the past and they all worked out great. Go to the Cabinet knobs section in HD/Lowes. ie Velcro, cabinet magnets, quarter turn fasteners a lot to choose from. I find the Cabinet magnets work out great.

I feel there is sufficient coverage, i had to raise the fixture a bit higher to increase the light span i'm not too worried about par with it being 400w and my tank being 24".

So did the wood/laminate come already done like that? Or did you have to add laminate onto the wood?

What is the exact name of that laminate? And where did you get it?

What about the rest of the trim on the tank? What kind of wood is that?

When you say 20k spotlights, your talking about what, some kind of Viper MH or something?

If you don't mind, how much was the tank, and how much was the total build do you think?

Also, where did you end up drilling the tank? Bottom? So what did you have, just one drain and one return in the overflow?

Did you just use a standard durso? If so, how do you go about cleaning it?

what about your tunze configurations? Has it had you have any sandstorms or barebottom pockets yet?

Congratulations on a very insprationsl Masterpiece!
On page 5 of your other post " Bonsai Tree Inspired Aquascape " you have a very neat and apparently well laid out mechanical setup.
Could you schematic your current equipment list?
Thanx

Well it is a simple setup as well, I have just one pump on a manifold powering the whole system a Sequence Barracuda. The pump feeds my main display return, a Precision Marine Bullet 2 skimmer, 1/4hp Arctica chiller which loops back to my sump, Koralin Calcium Reactor, DIY Phosban Reactor and a frag tank that also loops back into my sump. The air input of the skimmer (Becket) is tee along with a 50mg Red Sea Ozonizer which turns on 1hr a day @ 50%. Water movment consist of 2 Turbelle Stream 6101 + Multicontroller 7095 plus whatever the return puts out. Lighting, 400w PFO HQI Ballast 20k SE Radium in a Lumenarc III. The whole system is designed around ease of maintenance and so far so good.

You can kinda see all this on page 7 as well Cick here

:D

10) How many GPH is that pump giving you for turnover of your tank do you think?

Sorry for all the questions, but you've got what seems to be the perfect set up and I would like to duplicate it as close as possible.

Hey whats going on? Hey do you have a web page for your sys. now like you did when you were in NM? I havent talked to the crew lately How are you doing?

Sorry I found the answer to #10:

durso in my overflow it is made with 1"1/2 PVC to handle the flow of the Barracuda and so far it is quiet and doing a great job.

Are you running the pump at full force? Could you do this same Tee setup with an in-sump skimmer?
