...and i haven't even mixed salt yet!
While dripping RODI water into my tank overnight, seems i forgot to tighten a bulkhead. ~30 gallons on the new hardwood floors, which have since buckled and warped.

Lessons learned:
Tighten all bulkheads
No wood floor in the fishtank room

I lived that lesson. Put a dehumidifier by the floor. Floors are amazingly resilient and will most likely dry out and flex back to normal. Fortunately RODI is really clean and evaporates quickly.

Sorry to hear about your floors! People with hard wood or carpet..I don't know how they have salt tanks. I get water all over my floors LOL

I have wood plank tile (ceramic tile which looks like real wood planks staggered)

Initially for the dogs. but great for aquariums! 95 percent of home is tile now.

Yea, if these floors dont correct with the dehumidifier running, i am going to go that route- wood plank tile.
in hindsight....

I seriously wanted hard floors. I think its most beautiful option out there and its softer than tile but we are a dog family and now a fish family too. Cleaning tile is so easy. Hard to stain. You can seal them.

We do have a one year old now...and thats one new issue is its harder for her to practice walking cause its not fun to fall on tile. Her room and guest room only carpet we have.

I hope they correct rags. I know the costs of putting in hardwood is crazy high. Adding tile was expensive. I wonder if your home owners insurance would cover the spill if dehumidifier doesn't work out?

my insurance actually would cover it, but i have plenty of extra flooring on hand (it is a recently-completed addition to our house). The cost to cover it would be so low, no sense in putting in a claim. I do the work myself anyway, so it's just my own time and labor.
Right now though, i just wanna mix some salt, cook some more rock, and start the cycle.
The excitement of getting back into this hobby greatly outweigh this small setback.

You seem really upbeat and I think that's very admirable in this situation. Sorry to hear about your floors, best of luck to you in the future!
