I was going to ask the same thing. I gather you are referring to color rendering. Have you tried swapping places to see if it's just the light that's causing the different rendering?

BTW, this is an awesome thread and a good experiment. Thanks for making the effort.

Right, I tried to explain the difference, as I see it, between actual inherent color and the way something is rendered under light sources earlier in this thread - though my attempt at explanation was less than fully clear :lol: With these PM frags it's definitely the latter because they 'swap' appearance if I switch them between the two light sources.

Hmmn, they're showing as pasted but not visible? Link to PB seems to work though. Anyhow, if you can see them, the first two are the MH side and the second two are the LED side. OK, I guess I would need to actually pay for a PB account to get 3rd party hosting. how unreasonable!

No pictures are showing up and when you go to PB you get a bunch of ads and picture of your speedometer (nice mile count, BTW).

Apparently PB have changed their terms of service and third party hosting is now allowed only for the top tier of their pricing model. This is being rolled out so while some folks may still be able to link pics, not for long. I've been meaning to find an alternative for a while now.

BTW, I really appreciate you running this experiment. There's been some pretty harsh comments around lately about the efficacy of LED's for Acros and I'd love to see some more thoughtful and data based results.

Got lots of pictures, it's the whole posting thing that's proving problematic. My age-appropriate friends are likely to be useless, fortunately I have a teen aged son who claims he can do it for me.

BTW, don't think I mentioned this yet. I have a good sized blue tort in my display that I have begun fragging. Put one on each side. Frag under LED definately 'pops' more, but the frag under MH has grown faster. It's mostly encrusted the plug and is sending out new arms. Frag under LED has not encrusted the plug, and though it is also sending out new arms they are demonstrably smaller. Other frags show equivalent growth so far under both types of ligh.

Even though I currently run only LED on my main display, I ran DE HQI MH for over 20 years (before you ask, no, no pictures :lol, so I think of myself as light agnostic. I had success growing SPS when I used MH, and I have had success with LED. Mostly doing this experiment to 'prove' to myself, and anyone else interested, whether there are material differences.
