I'd had given some thought to running one, but I am not using one at the present time.

I got my hands on a used schuran sulfur denitrator. I had to fix a couple pieces, but it's now been running about 4 months. I've had to play around with the flow rate a bit, but it's definately working as the effluent is devoid of nitrates. Seems to have dropped my tank nitrates too. No noticeable differences in my rank though.

How are your Nitrates?

I think you need 9 more fish for an even 100. :lolspin: :bounce3:
I would like to add a Chevron tang if I can find one. I don't have one in any of the tanks and have always liked them. As for the other eight, maybe the Banggai cardinals will breed????

Final tally, or at lease as close as I can get.

Fish count as of 6/5/08

16 Wrasses

10 Chromis

17 Cardinals

1 Jawfish

1 Tile Fish

23 Tangs

2 Rabbit Fish

12 Anthias

3 Clowns

3 Blennies

1 Angel

2 Gobies

HOLY SMOKES! I need to come see this again.

I think I'm going to be in town next Sat (the 14th) any chance I could come by?

Which rabbit fish do you have? I have two One Spots in my 450 and I see one chasing the other one at times.

I'm also assuming that you don't have any shrimp in your tank? With 16 wrasses...

I've got an Orange Spot and a Magnificent Fox in the tank. I do have 10~ 12 large Cleaner Shrimp & 3 Peppermint shrimp in the tank last time I checked. Thr shrimp stay inder the rocks and over hangs and I don't see much of them until I feed the tank.

Thats amazing that the wrasses haven't eaten all of the shrimp.

Those Magnificents get huge, compared to the other rabbit fish. I love the colors of them though.

In my case, the Orange Spot if growing much faster than the Magnificent, probably doubling in size in the year that I have had it. I suppose the wrasses are probably the reason the cleaners stay so close to the rocks......

Added 2 Helfrichi Firefish today, These two are a little over 2" in length. I thought that I would post these pictures before they got lost in the tank.

23 tangs! WOW!

Love your tank, Goodwin!
THANK YOU!!

Much to my surprise, the Helfrichi Firefish didn't head for the rocks as suspected. Before I could get the camera, they had split to opposite ends of the tank. Got a couple of photos of one of them.

I like the darker ones. Any idea why they looked like that, and what you have to do to keep them that way? ;)

My not so good photo skills. The first two pictures were taken without a flash, the third I used the flash. The third picture is a more accurate representation of their color.

How large are your Anthias? I went to one of my LFS in the area, and theirs were a good 4-5", they were pretty big. I always thought theyd be small like chromis.
