My new 600 gallon reef

Surprisingly, without flooding the entire basement, I was able to remove the union and attatch the union from the new manifold. A couple of good turns with the wrenches and there are no leaks, at least with the pump off. Have the manifold in a temporary location before deciding where to place it permanently.

Now if I can just find where I keep the bandaids.......

Blood, sweat and tears - that's what reefers expend for their boxes of water. ;)

I like that manifold. What size tubing will fit those barb connections? Do you have hose clamps already?

oh, you think he will use hose clamps?
What are you talking about, you haven't been in my basement.... All I have to do is find the right bag or box and I will put them on.

sorry for the caps :)

what are going to use the manifold for? what are you going to be feeding with it?

Roger
After the tank was built and setup, I added a couple of media reactors, one for carbon, and one for GFO, each had it's own Maxijet providing flow. I wanted to get rid of those pumps and add a third media reactor running Seachem's Nitrate remover. The Blueline pump was there to add additional flow to the skimmer which was never needed, so I thought that I would use that pump already plumbed to feed all of the media reactors and do away with the maxijets.

I am a new subscriber. It has taken me a few days to read through all the posts and catchup to current. I have just one thought... addiction is not a problem until you cannot live with the consequences of your actions. Until then, buy yourself another fish for your homies in cell block 6.

Love your new softies! What are the pink and green zoas? And the yellow willie wonka umbrella softies??

Great Thread!! Keep the Fish Coming!!!

Interesting thoughts.... I've put on hold adding any more fish for this tank. I'm happy with the collection of tangs in the tank. They all seem to be doing well and behaving. I've got a couple on the QT tank that I thought about adding when they get some size, but might just end up putting them in a new project that I am working on. On tap for this tank is reducing Nitrates and photographing all on the in habitants in the tank.

Chuck, don't suppose you would mind posting the picture you posted on SWF.com of the Bariene Tang. Hoping maybe you or maybe Cougarman could comment any info on this Tang, can't find much info at all on them. The one you have in the your pic looks very little like the pics I have seen. Maybe juvinile coloring?? Blue Zoo has a few in stock, I am considering one as my only Tang in my 240.

Thanks,

Kirk

I've tried several different settings on my camera, but just can't find the right ones to get a decent picture of the Black tang.

This first picture was taken shortly after introduction in the tank, a little beat up.. Looks better in the second shot. This one is about 4" in length.
