It's fed by the display tanks one (of two) overflow pipes.
I am sure it gets its fair share of detritus...... Time will tell ;)

Hey Chuck.
I know I promised some updates in various places but I have had visitors from Denmark for the last two - three weeks now and that has taken all my time. Also why my own tank thread has been rather dormant.

But seeing your mangroves I thought I would add my own update since they came from your batch.

This is from July 14th:

Chuck, do you add the Miracle Grow to the sump or spray it directly onto the Mangroves?
Right now, I have the mangroves in a tub that isn't connected to the sump/refugium. I have been filling the tub with tank water once a week. Not the ideal situation, but for now it seems to be working. I am adding several drops of Miracle grow in the tub.

Nick, I am glad you took the time to post the pictures. Looks like yours are not only sprouting some nice leaves, but growing taller at the same time. I'm getting the leaves, but not any growth in height. Looks like I need to get mine planted in the refugims one of these days.

That does look like a lot of fish. I like it though. Just glad I don't have to do any work on it. :D

Looks tiny. Maybe you need to plug it in to recharge it. Just put some food near the grounding probe. ;)

I took those photos a half hour after I fed the tank. I was standing that the top of the stairs leading down to the basement using the macro lens, no flash and yet the fish acted like they hadn't been fed for a week. I think back to when Marc was in town and he watched me feed the tank for the first time, he thought that I was nuts.....maybe he still does.....

He is a photo of a nice zoo coverd rock, or at least whats left of it. I picked this up at the LFS store a couple of days ago. I learned a while back that the Orange Spotted Rabbit in the 600 loves zoos, so I put this rock in the 470. This was all that was left of the rock after only an hour in the tank. I watched as not one, but two fish picked away and ate the polyps off the rock like they were candy.

The culprits that stripped this rock were Blue Damsels. I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it in person. I'm sure if I hadn't caughtit right away, the rock would have been bare in the morning and my first thought might have been the Foxface, but no, I am probably the only person that has coral eating Blue Damsels in their tank.......

I grabbed the rock and moved it into the 210 where the remaining polyps seem to be happy and haven't been luch for anyone in that tank...
