Chuck do you qt any of your new fish?
Generally, just the tangs if they aren't too big for the QT tank. The tang I picked up yesterday is in there right now.

Here is a short video I made the other night of the Blue Dot Jawfish during feeding. Amazing at how well it swims backwards into it's little cave.....

He's a very methodical eater, isn't he? Targets one specific food item, very cool fish.

The new anthias are beautiful and seem to be feeding well in the video.

Wheres something like "welcome to the jungle", for soundtrack music? lol.

I love those anthias, such beautiful fish. I may have to get some instead of chromis for my tank =) Great looking tank!

He waits till the food is close to where he has dug in. I'm afraid if I fed the other end of the tank, he would starve. It doesn't seem to go very far from where it is dug in.

We have a local reefer that devised a tube feeder for his. He mounted the tubing to deliver food right near the Jawfish and he pours it into a funnel. The downside is a little high nutrient level in the tank.

cool vid, although the music is a little too relaxing for a feeding frenzy eh? :D Love those fish.
I chose a stock track...I didn't want to get to wild with the music and have sensorary overload.....

Now that would work!

The anthias are much more colorful. Downside to them are they cost more and can sometimes be a little tougher to keep than the chromis. If I had to choose one over the other, I would go with the Anthias if money wasn't a factor. Then again, you could always do both and have the best of both worlds......

i have a hard time locating livestocks in my reef too :D. yes that's why i tried to stay away from LFS, and mystery wrasse is sweet. i think its normal for anthias to hide for few days.
I did manage to find the three new anthias I kept in this tank hiding under the rocks. I would how long it will take them before they start swimming with their cousins......

well based on your vid you are not having trouble getting food to him, but it's an idea to bank if you need it later.
