Salt order arrived today so I can finally do some over due water changes....

What a great idea...a group buy for salt. I usually wait until DFS has it on sale and stock up. Any suggested sources for a big order like the one you got?

Sorry Goodwin I have been remiss in not finding this thread until page 37 of split #4. So I'm quite sure my question was answered elsewhere but I wasn't able to find it with search.

How tall is your 450? It looks taller than the 600 but that may have just been an illusion of the photography. If it is 30 or 36" do you prefer that depth to the 24" depth of the 600, wish you'd gone shallower/deeper on either of the tanks?

Thanks!

Btw, very jealous of your beautiful array of tangs. Every so often I get into some of the other fish families but honestly... I think tangs will always be my favorite.

The 450 tank is 5" taller in height. The height of the 600 was limited in order to be able to get it down the basement stairs.

A part of the illusion might be a result of the stands that they are sitting on. The 450 sits on the stand at 31", where the 600 sits on the stand at 42".00 The depth of the 600 allows me to use a hand scraper to get to the bottom of the tank. I need a longer handle scraper for the 450 which is a little more difficult for me to use.

I like the viewing height of the 600. Everything is pretty much at eye level. You have to bend down a little to see the back of the 450. I don't think that the shorter 600 has had any effects on the fish.

If I could only have one fish in a tank, it would definitely be a tang. :D

i was able to see this tank this weekend, thank you again goodwin for letting me and my daughter stop by and check out all your tanks.

I saw some tangs i had never seen in RL before and that was awesome but what got me are some of the more common fish that were full grown. i kid you not goodwin has a blenny that is on roids or hogs all the food, wow that is one huge fish. He also has full grown damsels and chromis that were bigger then my tangs. The ric tank is very pretty also, it was just a carpet of rics.
