my new carpet nem

If it's already attached, I'd leave it. If it's not happy it'll move on it own. Depending on the size it may not move at all. I've seen quite a few small haddoni in the rockwork. I assumed they were gigs because of this, but quickly learned that the larger haddoni like the sandbed while the little guys many times plant themselves on a rock.

great thank you i finally gotit off...are there and other tips anyone can give me to keep these two nems happy? Like I said im still learning.

It's a good sign when the nem wants to stick to something. Now that it's on the sand bed, expect it to dig in near one of the base rocks. 6-8 inches would make it more of an adult nem (when I refer to small nems I mean 1-2 inches) but it'll probably grow to larger than 18 inches.

Give it light. Bleaching (not to be confused with coral bleaching which sometime occurs from too much light) is an indication that the zooxanthellae -- a symbiotic algae that lives within the tissue of the anemone and provides the anemone nutrients -- has died. Giving the nem light will allow the zoox to repopulate within the nem and it will color up again. Give it a few weeks though.

If it looks healthy other than bleaching, you can try to feed it to give it a boost of energy. However, if it refuses food -- meaning it doesn't quickly try to eat it -- don't force it.
