my new mantis, is this smithii?

Hi guys, ive aquired a mantis from a fellow reefer and he is very outgoing, comes out and isnt afraid, has a peek around the whole tank and has dug himself a borrow.

heres a pic of him munching on shrimp while laying on his back.

Im guessing he is a g.smithii?

am i correct? he is about 5-6cm long.

What do you have him housed in?

he is in a 6gal jbj tank with a zoo garden. He has decided to dig under all my lr creating little tunnels and passageways to get from 1 spot to another, all the substrate has been pushed out and moved to the side of the tank against the glass.

heres a vid of him doing some excavation, i felt bad caus when i got the camera out he was done excavating, so i just filled up a bit of his hole to get him going again.. :lol:

the hosting is a bit ****e, so it might be slow to dl, ive encoded to divx so its fairly small size.

any clue on wether or not he is smithii? his tail spots are orange and his basher spots are blue/purple with a white rim.
