pic of new tank. 20 gallon long. i divided a section on the right side of the tank for the cheato, pump and heater. just two chambers with holes drilled for flow. 145gph powerhead for pump. cheato has a fair sized featherduster calling it home. lighting is a T-5 over tank, and a 45W swirly bulb over cheato. tank has been running for five days now. thanks to breutus, fazgood, craig, and logiktest, for liverock, sand, cheato, and knowledge. open for suggestions, any comments, laughter or whatever.:D

Looks great! glad it's coming together!

I love the rock work, lot of caves, and seems pretty high for such a small tank, well done!

Looks good - like your rocks... Can we see a FTS including the divided side? I would like to see how that is done...

Thanks!

here you go. i divided the tank front to back, six inches from the end. and then divided that in half. i used 1/4" acrylic i bought at lowes. the piece dividing the two halfs, is kept one inch above the bottom of the tank to allow for flow to the pump. the light on the end you see, is a DIY project for the cheato. this was my first attempt at this, and was not looking to impress anyone on the looks. was more of a working project, before i move up to a bigger tank.

forgot to add the pic, sorry.<a href="http://s289.photobucket.com/albums/ll207/rccub23/?action=view&current=Picture295.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i289.photobucket.com/albums/ll207/rccub23/Picture295.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

I'm thinking your wife did that rock-scaping!

Excellent job, now for the waiting game.

FYI... PetCo had marbled mollys for .99

yeah probably just a bacterial phase it has to work through, Are you feeding the tank anything or dosing it with anything? other thatn that it could be phosphates but I am willing to bet it's just a stage it has to grow through!

I really like how you did the divider! I would suggest maybe moving the pump to the bottom of the tank and putting a tube on it to make it back up to the hole you have for a return. That way if you start to loose water from evaporation it will take longer for the pump to run dry, but just a convenience thing

ok, here is the new pic. brown algae is gone for the most part. everything is going well so far. everything came from estalbished tanks, so the cycle went quick. i think i made a mistake getting the brain coral. it is doing fine so far, but i would be willing to trade it for something more compatible for my tank. let me know what you think, good or otherwise.
