My s.mertensii

While we're on the topic, my LFS received a mertens. It's about 5" across and has very nice coloration. The verrucae are very bright link. Here's a photo:

Beauty of a nem Dave, wonder if they will split since it has two mouths now, +1 on being majestic.

Thanks... Not sure what happened to my picture. It's turned into an X. Here are a couple more from today.

Thanks Robbie!

My clowns have gotten into the bad habbit of ripping off all the tentacles around the mouth. Around the mouth, they seem to constantly rip off tents and let them go - why? not sure. They don't do that around the edge of the disk, but the center of the nem, they are really rough. They spawn like clockwork. The anemone seems to put up with it. Been doing that for a while now. When they lay, they bite the edge of the nem so it receeds. Maybe they have a mind set of biting tents no matter where (when they are getting ready to lay). But it's gone on for a while now. They are really, really rough.

I would love to see some video of that. If it recedes then it will cover it after spawning... Good idea...

Sorry... I tried to upload a video, I can't...
but, I hope these pics tide you over, until I can find time for the neighbor to come use his HD camera... :) ... may be a while... but, If I can, I'll have him take a video and I'll post it after I get it... between feeding my kids, planning college, school, chickens, dogs, and tanks...fixing my house.... then, tending to my self employment, and marriage...and, other hobbies... Where's the time?!!!!.... :)

Here's a feeding pic from today.

This one piece keeps me from getting out.... :)

Marriage... yeah.. marriage to the tank, "husbandry"... come one.. till death do you part.

Uploading it to youtube might be a better place, as it will let you embed/paste the link in here.

Very nice so far. Good job!

I think it is a Malu. Crispa have a lot more tentacles and a lot bigger. My 10 year old Malu is only about 6-8 inches also.

Thanks guys! I bought that as a malu, was told it was crispa years ago by some on boards. Doesn't really matter, I like it so it stays. Goes through spurts, some times when I have time, I have feed it lots, other times it gets nothing for months. Size stays the same. It's really rock solid, looks the same day and night.

210 FTS today. I got rid of most of my sps in effort to reduce as much time with the tanks. Also moved the malu to the other side, burried the container it's in into the sand. These nems don't get fed much, not that I'm scared to, but mostly out of laziness.

Vinegar bottle is hidden pretty well. :) Easy moving.
