Ive noticed it happens with certain fish that like to aggressively eat off the surface.
Interesting, I would counter with this point. The air we breathe is processed by our lungs, and the food we eat is processed by our digestive system. Thus when I down a beer, which is full of entrained gases, I burp.
So if the fish is eating food laden with gas bubbles, wouldn't it make sense that it gets procesd by his digestive system, and thus could lead to fish farts.
