My Ultimate Multi Mantis System(s)

Why not just leave the current pipe in case of the boxes failing (I mist add that I don't see how they could).

I probably will seeing as there is no harm in doing so, having said that if down the track I notice they are no longer needed or providing much use, then I will remove them.

My latest 2 Ric's arrived this morning in a timely fashion they certainly are a pair of very nice Ric's can't wait for them to open up and get comfy in their new homes.

in order to prevent Nicole from harming/stealing or tumbling over these nice Ric's upon the fake wall, I have finally gummed them down to the plateaus thus seating them for good.

:) the wall is slowly being filled, this wall will take a LONG time...simply because Ricordeas cost so much and the wall will only have "premiums" upon it not the common colors of dull green / grey etc.

Those have been cut in the past week to or three give them a month of good feedings and you can cut them in 3 sections to make 6 where only 2 are now. :) looking forward to the sumps going online. Is theregoing to be a problem with the higith of the current plumbing? Of can you place a 90° on them and point them up to raise the drain above the hang on box overflow?

You can connected the fx5 to one of the drains and run the return in that same row like a closed loop

I'd rather get rid of them, unnecessary power usage not to mention they do take up space outside the stands...and I'd rather make a sump larger to fill the space of that FX5 then to actually keep it and have the sump smaller :X...

In short, they need to go, they are....embarrassing, to say the least...

Yeah, the seller is a real Ricordea guy downunder, he is one of the best guys I know as far as quality goes however he is notorious for really charging people which actually went a little viral for a while a.k.a "I got Danged" :) but I'm happy and to be honest he gave me mine for a very very good price.

I'm not sure to be honest...but I am more prepared to increase the pump size and hope that fixes the problem rather then change everything yet again...I'd rather just buy a really over sized pump and just dial it back as needed maybe the same model but 5000 (instead of the 3000).

What do you mean I am confused

I just meant can you screw in an elbow to the bulkhead and point it strait up to raise the water level on it before it drains. This way the overflow box strainer will pull the water before it goes through the bulkhead.

Longest Video to Date but also the most Basic...it's simple, this 5min video is a compilation of all the greatest clips of my deceased giant smasher Juggernaut.

1080p High Definition & High Speed Slow Motion within! :D

Trying to gouge the reaction of people with this type of video as I get a 50:50 mix of love and hate towards my more "effectsy" videos...a.k.a all present bar this one.

I'm working on and half way through a Large Spearer Compilation the same as this.

That's one of the best video compilations showing how a smasher's ability to disable its prey is borderline scary. At the same time it leads me to think in the wild they would settle for arms of crabs rather then casing down and taking the entire animal, or simply wait for a smaller target. Congrates on a great video.

Thanks for the compliment, make sure you like it on YouTube :P

What you say is likely true, it's the reasons why crabs can drop limbs, as a deterrent for predator pursuit, much like an Octopus can drop a leg, just to feed / distract the predator whilst the main body escapes, to live on.

I think the Aquarium brings out the 'worst' or most aggressive in Stomatopod behavior, just like other animals =X...all we try and do is make them as happy and content as possible or at least most of us.

The second Compilation detailing my largest spearer taking down various fish, shrimp and squid.

That fish which escaped might of dodged the clutches of fate temporarily...but the Leviathan did rise again and retake that which he first claimed....

;)

Tintin my male Ternatensis may or may not be dead...

It's been a few days since I have last seen him and I do know he has molted, when last I saw him it was after I gave him some fish flesh to eat, since then he has not made himself known, I know he has molted because I have found molt fragments in the compartment.

In order to try and find out what was going on in the burrow, I siphoned water out of the tank above it and ran the hose into the top of the fake wall burrow entry which blew out a lot of the molt from within and an odd shaped fleshy thing that didn't look like a stomatopod at all but there should be no fleshy substance from a molt unless the animal is dead...

Having said that due to the weird shape and just blob look of it I kind of put it to being that piece of food I offered him and am still hoping he is alive and recovering, only time will tell if he doesn't show in 2 days I will pull the wall out and inspect it.

Nicole molted yesterday and is alive and made herself known, I blew water the same way into her top burrow and lots of her molt came out and about 5mins later she poked her head out of an entry.

Tintin has me alarmed though...

I hope that he is still around. But how old would you but him at?

Well he is still small as far as his species goes at maybe half his overall potential length. I got him on June 9th 2012, he was around 25mm long back then and now maybe around 50mm-60mm when last seen.

I'm having the same issue right now with my N. wennerae.. He closed up and I haven't seen any signs of him for 3 weeks.. I ripped up the tank the other day looking for him and no sign anywhere.. no molt.. no carcass.. no live animal... This is in my tank which contains deco rock (hence what he hitchhiked in) and I've found several hitchhikers including eucinids... Hope something didn't hurt him while weak from a molt..
