Naso TANG not eating

I have had my Naso for 7 years - every once in awhile he will stop eating for a week - then he'll eat like a pig again. I've read about other people have the same situation.

Got a Nassau tang last thursday and he has yet to eat. Goes up and down the side of the tank most of the time. That Sucks! Wish he would calm down and relax.

It took two weeks to get mine to eat. Had to get live brine to get him started (this was after a week+ of no luck with all sorts of offerings).

He'd get so excited over the live food. First I'd immediately feed frozen afterwards and he get fooled for a couple of bites. Now I offer frozen first...he gets to the baster first and eats. Since I just got more live food before he seemed to make the switch, I feed from what's left of the live after the frozen. I didn't even get to having to mix it together at feeding time.

What's left to get him eating is nori. I've got a couple of kinds, put it everywhere (clips, rocks) and he won't go near it. He watches everyone else go for it, but hasn't tried it yet.

:thumbsup:He is now really going after the frozen mysis  Thank you Jesus. It was gonna get real expensive if I had to continue to buy him cleaner shrimp.
He is also tearing up the seaweed. I don't think he knew what it was.

I have mine for over a year now and it also stops eating now and then for a few days. It's on a hunger strike right now.
