Natural host means instant bond? Not so fast

At least that's what my true percs are saying and one of them is wild caught.
I added a mag yesterday but my clowns aren't moving from their BTA. Not sure if the flow by the mag is too strong for them or they prefer the larger size of the BTA. Whatever the case is, they are quite content in the BTA.

Creatures of habit and comfort, they were settled in, but I'll bet they start seeing the grass as greener on the mag side of the tank soon
Mag vid looks nice, good shimmer there, what lights and where'd you score the mag?
Did you have to treat it?

I think so too...that eventually they will move into the mag. I have Kessil A360W-e series. Got the mag from LAX aquarium. They had 3-4 smaller ones and I took one. I haven't treated it. The mag looked ok at the store and so far has only expanded in my tank. But I do have Cipro on hand just in case.
:)

And a question maybe only they can answer, but going off my experience it just seems instinct to what is more natural usually kicks in at some point.
It will at least be an interesting observation as to what they end up doing.

They know it's there. As soon as I placed the mag yesterday the true percula came and inspected it almost immediately but chose to go back to the BTA. You can see him in the pic below with the newly acclimating mag.

Oh yeah, my money says before the weekend is over they will at least be in both if not fully committed to the mag

Where did you go coraladdiction Im in the oc and wouldn't mind pop in to la to check a new spot. How much were the mags to?

LAX aquarium. They probably have 3 more left. The mags were $50 but with 15% off they are having it was closer to $40. They had also just gotten an XXL green gig which I didn't feel like dealing with and subsequently passed on. Have fun.

In my experience they will occupy every host anemone there is in the tank. One of my percula pairs (wild from the Solomons) had several anemones in their tank and they would use them all in sequence. One large crispa and 3 malu (or small crispa).

That's been my experience too with clowns occupying two gigs at one time. However, the gigs were next to each other. The mag and the BTA are about 20 inches apart in a 4ft tank. Not sure they will venture out that far between hosts.

The mag is in HT. It shrunk quite a bit. Hopefully it's not on its way out. Using a medication cutter I split 500 mg Cipro pills into smaller pieces to adjust the dose to smaller water volume.

How come I hear alot of medicating anemones. What's the purpose. Are you trying to clean up the toxins they released of something like that?
