Need help picking drill for glass holes.

As the title states I need to pick out a drill that I can use to drill holes in glass. I already have the drill bits I need, but I have a feeling my little battery operated 9.6V "skil drill" which is basicly an electic screw driver will not do the job. I don't have a lot of experience with power tools. Comments? Suggestions?

It really depends on how much money you want to spend. I got an electric drill at Harbor Freight when I bought my glass bits for $29.99. I figured if it crapped out it was only $29.99 but it's drilled about 10 glass holes and numerous other items around the house and is still going strong.

Al, when can I come over to use the press? I only plan on drilling two 10s, a 15, and a 40 for now and I will need to do another 40 in a week or two. Send me an e-mail or a PM.

i think a variable speed or multy speed would be best. I think glass is best drilled at a slower speed, and you need a dam around the hole to hold a little water to cool and lubricate. to make the dam you can roll a rope of plumbers putty and makea ring around the drill area. and then keep squirting a little water in there. the bit will last longer, and make a cleaner hole. be sure to have full contact backing on the reverse side of the glass. like a chunk or wood so that it dont spall when the bit comes thru.
