need skimmer for 180

Need suggestions for a skimmer on my 180 I am setting up. My budget is $500 max. Was thinking of the ASM G4plus or ASM G4X would this work out fine. would the recirc mod be beneficial. I would prefer to stay away from the energy hogging beckets.

Can't go wrong with the ASMs IMO.
A G4 will be plenty skimmer for a 180.

I have the ASM G4 and it is awesome. I plan to upgrade, thus buying the larger model upfront. I truly believe you can't go wrong with the G4. It's a set it and forget it brand.

Btw, ASM just implemented a MAP on their skimmers a couple weeks ago and all their skimmers are therefore sold at much higher prices. Still great deal, but not as good as they used to be. I have the G3 running on my 75 and I love it.

Hmm you're right. I wonder why that is. Maybe they decided MAP wasn't such a good idea...
