Its been almost 2 years since i went through this last... so i need a few tips if someone can help me out.

Ive had new saltwater cycling with some live rock and BRS tonga rock for the.last week.or so. I checked parameters for the 1st time tonight and they are as follows:

Ph 8.2
Ammonia 1.0
Salinity 1.025
Nitrite .25

Should i be checking anything else yet?

I dumped live sand in there the other day as well...

Whats my next step?

Sit and wait for your ammonia to drop to 0, your nitrites to drop to 0, your nitrates to rise and then fall again. Once your ammo and nitrites are 0 start doing water changes. In the meantime quarantine your first fish!

Google "fishless cycle". You dose ammonia to help fuel the bacterial growth and metabolism of ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate. It will still take you a full 7-8 weeks if you're starting from scratch.
